Real vehicle views
Is this possible at all? I'd like to real vehicle views, not ones where it looks like you're leaning a foot froward out of your seat. Can the PR team make the real views at all?

Every single vehicle accept tanks. Don't you think its odd the drivers eye are right behind the steering wheel? Or how a pilot just looks out the window?

Easier said than done... the devs have been working hard, and having to see buttons would just be eye candy since you wouldn't be able to use them

Re: Real vehicle views
silly suggestion, ever tried holding down ctrl and gently move ur mouse around?, in vehicles you can move your head around with yourmouse aswell. what else do you demand from PR?

So has anyone ever sat in a pilot seat before? You can see more targets and its just so much easier on the eyes. And let me see you hold control for more than 5 seconds and regain control of your chopper at less than 75m.

So your saying that if you had more buttons in front of you, in a heli you could see better?

Re: Real vehicle views
what you fail to understand is that BF2/PR is not a simulator game, there's always a limit on what the developers can or cannot do/make.

Re: Real vehicle views
as far as I've heard, and deduced, or gleaned from various threads and rumours, there may be free look in aircraft via the HAT switch or whatever without losing control on the way
Not sure if your right about the jeep drivers, it looks like a reasonable representation the view of a driver (I am a qualified driver btw)

couldn't find any screens of the cockpit, but its easy to see on this vid YouTube - Littlebird footage from Project Reality (Battlefield 2 mod)
if the model is correct, that looks just about right to me

Re: Real vehicle views
What you fail to realize is how much easier it would be to see objects. What is so hard about zooming out a camera view?

Re: Real vehicle views
you want the view to be of the headrest of the seat in front of you? Because unlike some games/mods, the view is at a natural looking distance when you account for the monitor and person looking at the monitor.

in this picture you can feel like the steering wheel is in reach.

In real like, we have a field of view of ~200 degrees, in BF2 and all games, it is only 90 degrees.Sanke wrote:So has anyone ever sat in a pilot seat before? Re: Real vehicle views
Wow, it took me to your last comment to even know what exactly you wanted done... You cant start a thread and ask for realistic views when most people will already assume the views are realistic. lol.
I dont think ive ever thought they were unrealistic and I have flown quite a bit before [and continue to drive daily]
Now that you say you want them zoomed out...well, idk, I have never seen a problem with it. What resolution do you run PR on? im on 1680x1050 and I can see things just fine. If it zoomed out too much you wouldnt be able to make anything out. Thats the price one pays when using a monitor. You can have great field of view with things being smaller and indistinguishable, or you can have somewhat limited FoV and be able to tell friend from foe, apc from vodnik, etc.

My view is alot more in than that. It really disturbs me since it's not natural like when you drive.Teek wrote:you want the view to be of the headrest of the seat in front of you? This game is not a driving simulator, it's for modern warfare and to do the work on making it that way would be utterly pointless since it would no way influence the realism of warfare...

mmmmk. This isn't a driving simulator but something with realism in the title should be more real.
And to whoever posted that jeep shot mine looks like this

Re: Real vehicle views
How is that not realistic? And why can't you just look down at the controls if you want to see them so badly
