Bullet impact should ruin your aim.
I think the first shot first kill needs to be more realistic.
The classic stare down fight, you see him he sees you and its a race to get the first hit. As it works now you can plug away at each other until someone goes down which is rather lame as your aim is still true as you are taking hits and returning fire.
It needs to be if I get hit by the other shooter my aim should be greatly moved off target. If you take a round and absorb the impact, you might as well be getting hit by a sledge hammer in the chest. Now imagine holding a rifle and trying to keep your aim as you get hit with a sledge or even a gown man punching you anywhere. Your aim will non existant.
It should bring you out of iron sight mode if you are in it and if you are not your view should be randomly deviated somewhat.
I think this is a better option than the blurred vision and other things that have been suggested before.

in teams, the fact that there's enough ppl in a team to make up for the lack of one shot one kill result in BF2 means that the ambush would still work or seems to work anyway since the rest of ur teammates provide the extra firepower needed to cover any holes (like when u miss that second round or third).
In one on one however... things r quite different, depending on who ur fighting against, it doesn't always work. Sometimes if ur up against ppl who doesn't have a very good situational awareness (like some ppl who just stands still while being shot and never realized he was shot till he died), then sure it works well still, but other times if ur up against ppl who r well aware and have a good reflex they often stand a good chance of turning to face u when shot at and spray back at u.

Its been suggested before. I like the way it was done in CoD 2. Along with the blood effect it was had to shoot accuractely if getting shot, like it should be.
Whether or not it can be done in BF2 is a different matter. I'm going to be optimistic and say that theres a 60% chance its possible. The reason I say this, is because there is already a 3rd person animation when you get shot. I think implementing a first person animation should fix the problem. Also, the animations appear to be defined with 3 different animations possible for both the front and back. There is an animation for front body, front left, front right , and the same ones for back. So, we might be able to implement pulling your aim in the a different direction depending where you get hit.

Agree 100% that we need something to stop this from happening.
Even with PRMM, I cannot count the number of times I have been waiting for an enemy to come around a corner, of course the first 1 sometimes 2 shots hit centre mass on him, what does he do? Goes instantly prone, and nails me in the head .005 of a second later. Even when using an m249 and just unloading on a guy, you will see the exact same thing time and time again.
End it PRMM!

This is a huge problem, and takes away so many viable tactics.

I agree with this and think there are way too many people going rambo and driving 1 man buggies in this game that don't get you need superior fire power and tactics in order to win. If your in a squad that actually focuses and lays down massive fire on a target, you will have no problem taking them out unless they are in a good squad also.
And you guys need to take some good cover also and stop keeping your head up for more then a few secs. Bob it up and down and you will be fine. It is also the maps because there is a real lack of good cover in all the 32 player non urban vehicle maps. You shouldn't have to go insta prone against an enemy in an open field, but let him while you are behind some cover. The way it is now, you already have the hit effects which make you moun and show red.
I think too many people don't go in squads enough and go rambo in vehicles or alone and wonder what happens. Stay in a squad together and you don't have to worry about getting killed by a lone hopping noobs.

That is irrelevant to the "suggestion" and does nothing to address it.

No, I never step into tanks I stay on the ground all the time. I know this is also irrelivant, but check my BF2s.com stats and you will see I barely have anytime on the vehicles except the attack helicopter which I used before sometimes.
I was in a squad the whole time if you are asking and my squad got good scores also. You guys need more teamwork.
And yes, what I sad was relevant because if you are in a squad, you don't have to worry about being killed by one lone proner as much. You guys don't get that if you have more firepower and teamwork, you don't run into these kind of problems as much unless your squad isn't working together or you go alone. And if you just crouch, it is also easy to take a target down instead of doing what he does. I don't like the proning accuracy that much, but there are plenty of ways to deal with it such as being behind cover or with a squad to add the extra firepower. That is where the rambo thing came in since most people who complain about this are going in alone and think they were robbed of a kill.
