I think that if someone went prone on a grenade it shouldn't be so damaging to the rest, but that could bring problems unless you made the person who was killed by the gren. unrevivable by the medics (kinda like when a tank shoots it's main cannon at you, or when an AT rocket hits you).

ya, it'd be nice, lots of people dont even notice the nades, so if somebody does and does something about it, it should give some kind of benefit to nearby frienldies...

Sadly I have taken many bullets for people.... many times it is an accident though. I was on Strike at Karkland once with a medic trying to help someone behind me. Just as I started to move a MEC guy ran around the corner, shot at the medic and I passed into the way of the bullets and died. The guy got saved and medic lived but they were too busy fighting him to notice me on the ground full of bullets

Was kinda funny thought after the fact.

Great idea, hell, I know I hate being the only one in the whole squad who see's a nade and the only one who survives. Now with a mic I can at least scream "nade!" but to anyone who doesn't have a mic they can't help their squad. They are left stranded. I'd be very willing to give my life up for the life of a squadleader.

I'm not sure about PR/BF2 but I know this works in Americas Army. I was throwing a grenade, but I threw it too high. The 'nade bounced off the top of the door way back behind a team mate. I sprinted back and went prone on it, and the guy just a few feet away lived.
I think it would work though, but grenades would have to be changed. Splash damage, to my knowledge, affects everyone in the area. However fragmentation grenades ***fragment***. Who would've thought it? Just reduce the splash damage to a meter or so and instead make the grenade send out a bunch of fragments(bullets, coding wise). This way if a soldier jumped on a grenade anyone right next to him would be hurt but anyone else would be OK because all the shrapnel would hit him.

Nice idea. I played an Operation Flashpoint WW2 mod that had this, and it really added to the experience. You couldn't just stare at a nade like 10 meters away, because you always had a chance of being hit by a fragment.

I'd love to see fragmentation coming from grenade bursts and other fragmentation weapons, like claymores.

Hope that does not apply in your real life

i hope the devs are seriously considering this ecause i would like grenades to fragment and have a realistic killing distance

Fragments would be good for effective killing distance. Not only could you realistically kill more enemies, but you would have to be careful not to kill yourself, or any teamates. Also, these fragments would act like bullets right? I meen, a shot to the leg wouldn't be an instant kill right?

In real life I still would. I meen, what's the big deal if I only have to wait thirty seconds to respawn.
