Tired of those long walks?

Post by imhooks »

Tired of pressing W all day? I just got a new OCZ Equalizer mouse. My first actual "gaming mouse". Well i have found I was at a serious disadvantage using a single laser mouse. Its a great mouse and would recommend it.

But I found that you could program the buttons to a certain keyboard key or combo of keys. Well I decided to program the "forward button" on the mouse to trigger the W key, and it holds the key until I press it again. So with those long walks that seem so inevitable in 0.8 This has been a nice change.

Its essentially auto-pilot for walking :)

P.S. Im lazy :)

We could do this already with just BF2, no fancy gear. Hold down W, then press one of the chat keys, J, K or L. We'd be stuck in walking forward, without spending extra money. :p

I just walk and press the (all/squad/team)chat key and it walks while you can still control it with your mouse.

^Either that, or if u want to use the other keys or the mouse just jam the W key with a screwdriver. Works for me :D

Opening xfire once should work too (or is that just with crouching? Would have to try, but it would be logical). There are many ways, easiest one being to just press that button to put something on it :p

ah well I thought I had an advantage :) You can use the speak keys and still turn.

But my mouse does have a triple fire button which is useful with the pistol, and 50 cal :)

Triple fire is just an abomination created by the (insert insult here) (insert your religion here) (insert your country here) government.

Tripple fire? With the low ROF of the Pistol you can also just press three times. Or does that fire faster than that? In that case i wouldnt use it.

well i've tested each method. ANd with pressing the speak key you can't do things like reload, fire, sprint, and crouch. But with my mouse programmed I can do those things with auto-walk.

The triple fire isn't that beneficial but its kinda cool. The mouse was only $25 so for its performance its great.

Haha i have the same ocz equalizer mouse, its a REALLY good mouse i got it for 20 bucks and its a great bang for the buck. It has like 5 or 6 different dpi settings up to 2500 dual laser powa and all you have to do to change it is a click of a button on the mouse.

Only servers that enable that option.

Which also kicks Logitech G15 users who have the LCD/Keyprogramming processes running, thanks a lot for ruining my game punkbuster, on a product that EA sponsors...

Instead of buying a new mouse you can just put a rock on your W key and tape it down. Then you can go wash your car, grab a bit to eat, read a novel or whatever. When you get back you'll almost be there.

Fun project: create a USB device that does nothing but send your walk-forward key constantly. Bonus points for an on/off switch on it.

Sometimes it's faster to suicide and respawn to the other side of the map. Not useful if you have some special kit, but otherwise it's relatively fast way jump long distances even with the 60 sec spawn time.
