When you join a server like kashan or al kufra you find an armour squad with 3 tanks, which should be but are they moving tactically or just moving round the battlefield in an unorderly manor:
A tactic used used in RL is that one tank moves up while the other is stationary and possibly in cover(By cover preferably in the Hull-down position), covering the moving tank this way the moving tank isnt a stable firing platform while the one that is stationary is, then when the moving tank has moved 500-700m ahead of the stationary tank it will try to find cover and cover the front and the back and sides of the moving tank, if you cant find cover then tough.
try this tactic and if it works post about it and if it doesnt post also.

Re: Tank squad
I have used this tactic and it didn't work that well in my opinion. The problem is that bc of rather low view distance (for tanking) in BF2/PR the moving tank cannot be cover very well. The enemy tank can be very far away and when the covering tanks cant see it then the moving tank is on its own.

Re: Tank squad
Many often try to use "real" tactics in the gaming scene and they work 50% of the time. I for one have tried to incorporate my years of tanking and like I said 50% of the time it works. The fact that this isn't reality kinda hurts that. So I guess we have to keep trying new tactics on and off the battlefield. Hitman that bounding technique isn't a bad idea though I'd love to see it on the game....that's if you can get your team to react to it.

Re: Tank squad
Rudd_medicman's armour tactics
on CAS enabled maps
2 tanks, 4 crewmen, 1 officer and 1 engineer
Presence of officer allows asset construction, CAS and rally points. Rally points are not 100% necessary for tank squads, as spawning at main for replacement assets is acceptable. But having a rally point set somewhere safe allows the squad to switch over to non-armour roles if destroyed and no replacements are avaliable.
on non-CAS maps
3 tanks, all crewmen, BUT NEED TO HAVE another squad providing repair support or you will FAIL.
this allows the max amount of firepower to be VOIP linked
