Vehicles Windshield

Well, i was thinking if this "bug", explained on the video, can be fixed:

Kind of, if someone shot on the windshield, from outside, the driver is able to see the glass broken. IMO it's cool to drive around with the windshield busted, and realistic too.

that would make a really cool effect.

Would be cool, not sure if it's possible though.

Same for having big holes in tanks and such :P more damage visible on vehicles would be good, esp after a firefight and you pull over to have a look "Woa look how much we f&%£ed this up!"

I think it might not be so difficult to do, maybe, just invert the windshield ?

Or rather invert the decal that is on the windshield when shot so that the textured side faces in rather than out.

I looked into this a while back but never really got anywhere with the idea. Someone with more editor experience might be able to figure it out.

Yeah nice. And some holes where an armored vehicle is hit by a shell, and some black around it because of the heat.

This is still BF2 we are talking about, so don't get your hopes up too much ;)

BFBC stands for Battlefield: Bad Company, it's not a mod.

Nice !
That would absolutley make the IN-Game effect better // more realistic ..
But, it should be from " a shoot " ONE shot comes and more, more holes. Ye, you know.
Anyway, how it will be it seems nice to have ;D

Yeah, dont know much about modelling but it looks pretty obvious that the decal shows on the side it came from but not on the other, much like when you hit a wall, you see the bullet hole, but wouldnt from inside the building[if you could look from there]

But like was said earlier, I wonder if its possible to have the decals side be inverted so that when a round comes from the front, instead of showing outside it shows inside, or best case, showing on both sides...

But yeah... wonder if its even possible... as texture files are probably only one sided? Is there a way to add the other side to them?

As long as you can actually shoot through that glass, I'm fine with whatever change is being made.

Well, if you glitch inside a wall and shoot from there, nothing happens, i think will be the same thing if you invert the windshield, i don't realy know how this works, but i think it's something like, there's two windshield's "glued", one facing outside and the other facing inside.

but this is only conjectures...

if it's only for one side, it can be shown only from the driver perspective. that would be enought :)
