taxying for helicopters
is it possible to make the helicopters with wheels to taxi? in real life they taxi! if it is not possible, it's not a big deal, just randomly thought of it and wanted to ask.

Re: taxying for helicopters
technically yes I think it would be possible, we would just use a plane engine instead of a chopper engine to control the drive ie, the reverse of what we have for jets.
Thou ehhh, gameplay wise, I dont really see it as a needy item? Jets ye epically since we spawn them far away from the runway and they are required to taxi, but choppers spawn right on the helipads they take off from?

On basrah you can sort of taxi with a apache by leaning abit forward. Alex6714 did it ones.

In training mode, I've noticed that the apache taxis by itself (moves forward slightly) with nobody in the pilot seat. When I was practising on Qinling, sat in the Merlin waiting for the engine to warm up, the Apache would continue to move forward until it ended outside the helipad where it blows up, spawns and repeats.Mora wrote:On basrah you can sort of taxi with a apache by leaning abit forward. ^^ Smeg, I've that, but on Muttrah city v2. I was waiting for the rotors to get to full speed, and I think that they were pushing the other helis in the same way that they make trees shake and stuff.

i personally think it wouldn't be a bad idea... it might not bring much to the game but still a little bit more realistic

Helicopter only taxi to help air traffic controllers in managing traffic flow. There is no reason to taxi unless for that reason.P.S.Txatu miller wrote:i personally think it wouldn't be a bad idea... it might not bring much to the game but still a little bit more realistic

I think it would be useful. I am not the best pilot in the world but its very difficult to shift a helo a few feet forward if you miss the pad by a couple of feet, or need to move away from a building after a hasty landing.
