Draggin/moving an injured teammate

Post by [ROC]Loser »

There are times when friendly got hit in a fire fight, but the medic can't revive them due to the heavy fire.

If we can just drag/carry/pull the friendly away from the fire fight, then the medic can revive the poor friendly safely.

Is it possible to add this feature?

this is probaly impossibal to do with the BF2 engine. thou im not a coder/animator. But it seems that it would take alot of work even if it si possibal to get anouther player to somhow drag anouther deadplayer arround. It was good and usful in Metal Gear solid but thats a diffrent game.

Also it would mean you going out into the fire fighting and picking this corps up which could get you killed anyways when it would be much quicker to just jump on the guys body and hit the zapper.

Here's an idea:

- Morphine needle with limited use revives player to 25% health.

- First Aid Kit acts like a wrench, meaning you have to click
and hold in order to heal a teammate to simulate bandaging.

There you go.

now model the items u need for morphine and code the rest into the game. Thou u are still going to inject morephine into a deadguys body and hes going to spring back to life which aint much diffrent from just zapping him...

Precisely.

But it makes more sense to use morphine than defibrillators
for gunshot wounds.

Defibs are fine for me, the click and holding the medipack would be good i guess. The aspect of the game that I want realism is the combat, these little side matters like defibs and ammobags and all that **** isn't important now.

Besides, Ehh....won't all the soldiers become Morphine addicts then? They will spend more time injecting morphine into themselves than fighting....J/K

the easiest way i can think of to stop ppl from diving in and defib ppl like crazed monkey is to force them to stop on the spot for defib and ensures that the process takes at least a few seconds. Try defib ppl that way in a firefight and he will almost certainly be turned into a swiss cheese.

I say make the defibs act like a wrentch, so that it takes like 5 secs to "fix" the player and they will be back up to like 40-50% health.

Get rid of defibs altogether. What was DICE thinking when they put in shock paddles?

I supposed the dragging would be a good idea if we could make the reviving process take longer

A disturbance in the force there is...

The problem with making "defibs" act like a wrench is that
defibrillators were meant to give a short electrical shock to get
the heart pumping again.

If you "fix" something like in BF2,
you hold down the left mouse button. If they implement your
system, do you know how awkward it will be to "fix" someone
with shock paddles?

How 'bout the medic fixes up the wounded with some morphine or some tourniquettes?

reviving someone should take 3-5 seconds, or enough time for the medic to be swiss cheesed (new word!). if someone is shot in the head they soht not be able to be revived. if someone is injured and the enemy dicides that they dont want that person to live, they should be able to put a bullet in the head and make that person "un-revivable". this way there wont pe any more people getting shot 15 times with the SAW and being magically revived.

perfect. the medic can have the animation of shooting them up or wrapping them up with bandages...
