Creating ammo piles

This could be called exploitation, but it's present in the game as a feat so... Let your moral decide.

When making a stand, have all your available riflemen (2+) throw their ammo in a pile behind cover. Then have them reload their ammo one at the time.
This way you get a surplus of ammo, and the more ammo bags you have to reload from, the reloading process go X times faster. Having this pile close to the RP can be a good idea, so all with requestable kits can drop their ammo before changing kits.

Tip 2 regarding ammo/reloading; Try to never use your field dressing if you have a anti-tank rocket, it can make it a pain in the *** reloading it.
