Re: AutoCAD
NO is the short answer.
The longer answer is :
You could export the file as a OBJ file then import it into 3dsmax then export. I'm not trying to hint anything but most have no problems _______ a version of 3dsmax. If your are learning AutoCAD, 3dsmax isn't a bad thing to learn. Thats how I started 10+ years ago.

Re: AutoCAD
so i could make at home in autocad and export to 3ds max at uni??
can you export to Gmax with autocad??
as all i can get is a free 30 day trial for 3ds max they don't do a full version for students.
E; mind you if i make anything you find worthy i could always export it as an OBJ and it could be exported by some one with 3ds

Re: AutoCAD
You will have to learn AutoCAD a bit before exporting files
But even then you COULD finish your project in 3dsmax (30 days) should be a good amount of time.

3DS Max is a Free 30 day trial for students. I would know, as mine expired
. I personally use Autodesk Inventor and then use 3DS Max to import the CAD file, and get someone else to touch it up (as I don't have enough time to learn 3DS Max.) If you AREN'T proficient in AutoCAD already, then I suggest learning 3DS Max instead, as it better suits the purpose. With Inventor I can barely get away with a good import, but with AudoCAD... that's gonna be pretty tough.
In addition I do not believe you could get away with it with the Architectural Version, I barely get away with it on Inventor, which is DESIGNED for 3D CAD. Good luck, though.

Gmax is another one you can use for free but I think they dropped it.

Re: AutoCAD
well some time ago I remember there being a promotion from autodesk allowing students to have a license for 3 years or something but they might have stopped that now.
