Number of players per map question

I sure people have asked this before but is it possible with the BF2 engine to have more than 64 players on a map? Iv never bothered asking this before so genuinely dont know lol.
I would love to see 124 on a PR map someday! I saw a single player mod where you could have 124 bots or some shit lol.

Anyway, is it?

you can download a bot adder or what ever, real simple tool and have 100+ bots, unreliable and has CTD's but fun if u like that sort of thing. as for online, no. the bf2 demo has more than 64. but its all in the above thread.

Yes, it is possible to have more than 64 people on a map with the BF2 engine. However a limit has been placed on BF2 which allows no more than 64 players, removing this limit could result in legal actions.
There was a petition to change the limit to 114? players though they never sent it in from what I know.

Apparently it was sent off a few weeks after it was started.
Id expect the 1.5 patch to be out fairly soon, but there's only a slim chance that they will increase the player numbers. If you'd said they'll be a 1.5 patch a few months ago, everyone would have laughed, so its not impossible.
