These maps do take allot of RAM. We have a few 4km maps running right now : Kashan desert and Battle for Qinling

I would say your going to have problems running these maps. Some of the smaller maps you should be fine. I know its hard and/or not cheap but PR has taken the BF2 engine farther then when it was first released. Hope your able to get some good game in!

I have 2gb ram, and I can run Kashan desert and Battle for Qinling ok in low. (both have few trees and objects).
the new maps are going to need more than 2gb ram?. they have more objects?
thank you for your answer.

performance is spelled wrong. It bugs me because I lost my school spelling bee, got 2nd place, and missed out on regionals because of that word in 5th grade. /boring childhood scars

The bigger these maps get, the more of the pr community who cant afford to upgrade will be left in the dust. :(

Second place is first loser....I'm not correcting anything. Thats what you get. Maybe you should have won then I would change it. Add he already said sorry for the bad english might give you a hint its not his first language.

Please that always comes up. You need to upgrade at some point. Not everyone can afford it sure. But we are not going to hold back the mod for the sake of a few. That's like complaining that you cant play HALO on your NES. :-P

Hell, I can't even play Halo on my modern Vista rig!

CodeRedFox is absolutely right - this is like any other game in that the developers will do everything they can to avoid slowing their progress for people who don't have the correct PC specs.

Whi do we need theese big maps for, i mean BF2 engine is restricted to 64players, 4km should be the bigest map, dont go to 8km map.

Allot of people really enjoy them. There is a reason Kashan desert is always packed. but dont fear, we have and planned on always having a good mix of small, medium and large maps.
