Would it be possible to put the grid we're in next to the degrees 'ladder'?
Having to press caps is sometimes innapropriate, for example, when fighting, you just can't hit caps to make the map pop up.
So I believe it's not a bad idea, as it would be way faster to tell your squad where you are when taking fire, etc. Dont need to be big, just a small icon ''G4KP1''.
What do you guys think about it?

I'm 99.9% sure that the game itself has no way of telling where you are on the map in terms of coordinates, so I think its impossible. :\
And as far as telling your squad when youre under fire... they should be right next to you

Multi-pronged assaults are for suckers anyway.
But like he said, I don't believe there is a way for the game to know the grid coordinates since they are nothing but a 2D image over the map.

Roger, I tought that, condisering the fact that we can see the degrees, there might be a way to force the bf engine to show where you are... If by hitting caps the engine can identify you and place you properly on the map, it must know what grid you'r in... And not only for squad, for planes or whatever, quick intel is the best way to win a fight.
Keep me updated if it's do-able and if you guys see any usefull way of using it. I written mine down...

If you need to tell someone else via chat, you need to stop, get to cover, and type out whatever you need to type out anyway. If you're with your squad, they should be able to tell you where you are if they aren't right next to you. If you are a squadleader talking to the commander, you can set markers.
If you really want a map that doesn't take away input, use the other, non-capslock, maximized map (sorry, I have no clue what the default binds in BF2 are).
