CAS insurgency

Post by Uladh »

i would really like to see Close air support incorparated into the insurgency maps such as al basray it has an airport in the map but no combat choppers or A 10 support, i would really LOVE if that map had a 10 support for the british so we can call in laser targets and what not, it just seems a shame to have the airport but no air support

Al Basrah had Attack Helicopters in the previous versions( i think ) but now the gameplay has changed and the map is too smal for such a vehicule, but on Al Basrah the brits have a tank and load of apc's so i think this is enough.

Having CAS on a 2km map is slim. The maps aren't set up for them. Hench the reason a few larger insurgency maps are on the way.

al basrah had A-10s and cobras back in version .5, but when the devs revamped the jets that map became too small to really make a jet useful. plus lots of people were crying about the US having overwhelming force in basrah, because you know, thats not really how it is in real life {sarcasm off}

but yeah i really think that we see a real lack of helicopter gunships in general not just in insurgency but in PR as whole. I mean i cant think of a map besides kashan 32 that has havoks. im not talking about little birds and transport choppers with machine guns, im talking fulk on gunships like the cobra/havok/PLA chopper/apache and especially in insurgency maps, like im really confused as to why there wont be any cobras in the fallujah map that was a really big battle afterall.

im not trying to insult american forces, im just more interested in my own countries armed forces which are very underrepresented in most games,iv found myself im in the middle of firefights with yanks in my team on al basrah saying move the bradley or humvee to this location or blackhawk we need airlift, i try to correct them or play stupid saying there are no bradlets,humvees or blackhawks on the map

well in real life pilots dont just bomb the **** out of places with friendly forces in the area, the pilot would have to get intel from ground forces saying enemy hold up in this building here and then the pilot drops a single bomb on the target not crpet bombing lol

^ if an A-10 was on an urban map in PR, how many pilots would just strafe the F outta it and just take the spawntime/change servers when finally killed

^ wasn't jet speed increased after 0.5 which is why the smaller maps simply don't work with them anymore?

coulden't you have airstrikes like tactical aids?

someone here suggested that PRM could incorporate a sort of tactical aid system including all manner of combat support (napalm, artillery, mortars, MLRS, bunker buster)

^ World in conflict FTW :D (no napalm btw)

its just odd in cities right? Civilian casualties, and also gotta give the insurgents something to keep it asymetrically balanced. But what could it be?

more spawns could work
