Some random questions

Yesterday was the first time in a long time that I played PR again. I guess the last time was way back with version 0.5 or 0.4.
A lot of things have changed, and maybe some of you can answer a couple of questions these changes (not only changes actually) have made me ask.
1.
Where are the night-maps? I remember having a blast on a couple of the nightmaps. Are they out and not coming back?
2.
Am I the only one who can't aim with the AK? With the new ironsights, aiming is nearly impossible. The aiming-thingy at the end of the barrel (I don't know what it's called) doesn't stand out from the rest of the aiming mechanism.
It could be because I use a widescreen monitor with a native res. of 1680x1050. (I'll post a screenshot later)
3.
Is it normal that I walk around for ~15 minutes without spotting a single enemy?
The thing I now mostly do in PR is walking from one point of thet map to the other (when my SL hasn't created a rallypoint. And even then it's mostly walking.)
To be honest: this is the part of PR that I dislike the most. I think the firefights are great, the gameplay is excellent, but most of the time nothing happens.
