My suggestion, for the sake of balance would be to have the ELCAN scope which in game would have a slight zoom, less so than that found in an ACOG or other scoped rifle, but with more zoom than say a red dot site.
It would obviously take a while to sight in and settle, meaning that the advantage would still be with a rifleman who would be able to fire quicker, but would allow more accurate long range fire support than what we have now.
It would allow accurate long range suppression of an enemy target rather than the close range CQC or long range blind fire that occurs now.
