BF1942 Style Artillery

Post by Animalmother »

So I know this has been discussed before, but I havent really heard a clear cut answer. Is it possible to have the scouting system of BF1942 in the bf2 engine? Its a long shot but I just wanna make sure before I give up hope on this thing

I was just looking at the list of all the vehicles and stuff we had in DC, and saw the MLRS, and I remembered all the good times I had raining rockets on Iraqi bases 8)

Yea. Id liek to see this re-implemented.

Me and my friend devised a cool system in our PoE day's. We were able to drop a rocket salvo straight onto enemy helo's as they wound up. It was so much fun sat in the grass and hearing the rockets come flying over-head. That was until the enemy wised up and came looking for me.

America was a tad late into the First World War. They redeemed themself's and came in slightly sooner in the Second. Now they seem determined to start the Third.

There is a self-propelled tracked artillery piece in the WIP gallery, I'd expect similar systems for all of the armies.

they will find a way!!!!....

i hope!

i had so much fun using the arty in PoE! Nothing was great then being a sniper and spotting a group of tanks and having missles rain death upon them! even better was getting good enough on an MLRS and getting your timing down and being able to hit MOVING tanks =D

Ahhh the good old days. I'm realy hopeing that they do find a way to get the old system in. I loved to be in the howitzers and just blast away at enemies. I'm sure they'll find a way :D

I really think we should only keep artillery on maps such as El Alamein XXL.

Mortar strikes can be used (if a squad leader requests it) on urban and infantry maps, I suppose

I am sure that some kind of artillery will be implemented.

AS90 and MLRS are great weapons and are hopefully going change the way we play.
