So I just got back from a battle on the Qwai River map and realized something: I can die simply from my wounds after using literally about 8 med patches because they a)don't reload quick enough and b)don't heal enough. There is a major problem when I can sit next to a resupply crate, bleeding out, and continuously resupply and use med patches from it and DIE from my wounds after about 5 minutes.
Now on the surface this may seem to be one of those "OMG UR SUCH A N00BZOR" moments. But rest assured, I have played this mod since .5 and know my way around the game. And I am here to say that one of three things needs to be fixed: 1) Med patches replenish more health 2) Bleed out rate is decreased so I can apply med patches quick enough to save myself or 3) Med patches need to resupply quicker.
I understand that the purpose of the med patch is to heal yourself so that you can fight again or last until a medic comes. But guess what? My whole squad got wiped out along with our rally. Help wasn't coming. I wasn't under fire any more. I was completely alone by myself next to a supply box, resupplying medic patches as fast as I could, and healing myself at the same speed. And I still managed to bleed out after using up the entire supply box's supply. Obviously, something isn't right when that happens.

Re: Resupply/Med Patch Issues
IRL if you were seriously wounded and left alone to die in the wilderness...you'd probably die
But this is a game, so sure, why not.
Would much rather a medic had got to you in those 5 mins tho

Re: Resupply/Med Patch Issues
I'd agree with 2 only :
However, I would already have a medic healing me but I think what asianator365 is saying is farily decent. I imagine tho, from having recovered from 70% heavy injuries just with field dressings lately during rounds, that your injuries were extreme so that you'd die even with plenty of FDs.
Only that should be enough to solve the issue whilst the bleed effect incapacitates the player enough not to let him fight properly.2) Bleed out rate is decreased so I can apply med patches quick enough to save myself

Never touch the bleeding time. It's already hell for insurgents that you're not getting any medical support and the bleeding effects ruin your gameplay. Don't make it any worse, please.

Yep
The patches are just a quick heal so you have a litle more time to get a medic.

Exactly, the patches aren't mean to be medpacks of sorts, just a quick fix to stop bleeding effecting you too much if you fall off a ledge or something, or just to keep you ticking over till a medic comes to you.

Re: Resupply/Med Patch Issues
I actually agree with the TC to a point.
I understand that the FDs are just for making you survive a bit longer...but it also for healing MINOR WOUNDS. There are many times where I take enough hits to require the FD to heal me up. But because it takes so long to get it out I've already passed the mark where I can be healed out of the bleed out state.
So in short, all that is needed to be changed is to lower the time needed to get them out a bit. That way you still have a chance to heal from minor wounds before you enter the....POINT OF NO RETURN

Re: Resupply/Med Patch Issues
I'm glad I found this topic, the issue just came accross my mind today.
My idea is that the wounded could use these nice new supply crates to heal themselves. By pressing standard E, some animation would start and the soldier could stabilise his condition and slowly heal himself. Is that possible to make? Further feedback?

Yes, this is it. It's nothing more than a sterile bandage.. Not even treated with QuikClot.. It is purely a stopgap until a trained medic arrives on scene...
