head shots= death

Post by Conman51 »

in my opinion infantry combat has become less deadly...no more head shot deaths!?!?!?

this is worse for snipers because now they cant really engage targets because no matter what they hit a medic is right there ready to get him back up..its going back to bf2...i liked ALL the changes in .85 except this one, but its your mod so make it the way you want. its just a little minor thing that i didn't like..not serious

thanks for the mod :)

I'll have to agree with this one, and recently I've been running into squads that consist of 5 medics and an SL. :?

Only if you're extremely lucky you will live a gun shot to the head.

I agree.

they do not want you to vbf2 aim for the head combat thats why it dose not kill

I suggest that they make the marksman and sniper bullets kill with head shots as it is there job to kill the enemy.

Medic kit as limited kit !

IRL , when you go to war, there are AUTOMATICALLY an automatic rifleman and grenadier in your fireteam

That makes 1 medic for 13+1
And 1 Gren or M249 for 3+1

And those 2 last kits are unavailible as starting kits unlike Medic
True , that is bad.

Of all the great changes in .85 from .8,

THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST CHANGE

Seriously....you DEV's are making a HUGE contradiction in a game based on realism.

I know the changes were made because you wanted us to be able to hit what we aim at again....but come on!!!!!

I agree. In fact they even made it more unbalanced, medic now has 8 clips and the grenade has been weakened.

In .8 I preferred playing as a CQC riflemen in urban combat, with a grenade prepped, incase there was an enemy squad behind the face or around the corner. But in .85, I found out that grenades are no longer as lethal (most of the time will only cause a minor bleed) and the decrease in deviation has led to more accurate shots.
Now I am playing as a medic. I have the same amount of clips as a riflemen, and if I am shot, I simply retreat and heal myself. A little arcade (if not vanilla) but alas that's what happens when we beat down some classes and lift the others. ''Flavor of the Month'', as they dub it, in mmo communities, in which some classes are made extremely powerful during some publishes, and then subsequently weaken, in the following.

I gave up myself and went medic. They took the nerf hammer to my beloved ironsight riflemen and reduced it to a mere novelty class, essentially now it's a water boy for the Heavy AT and whoever ******* at me for an ammo drop.
I've noticed now, especially on insurgency maps, that the conventional factions now have a minimal of a single medic or two in each squad. In .8, often or not, it was hard to find someone dedicated to that task. But with healing much faster and grenades a lot weaker, everyone is choosing medic as their preferred CQC class.

This is a very likely change for 0.9. Lot's of availability, but only one per squad allowed.

Jaymz, thats prob a good change, but do you guys really like the no death from head shot change? It makes things so damn arcadey....and it really takes away the fear factor from exposing yourself to enemy fire when there's a medic near by.

A friend and I play in 2-man squads alot, one of us with Officer kit and 1 with Medic.

When engaging targets, we usually have the scoped kit prone and out of cover, while the medic stays out of engagement range.

If the scoped kit gets killed, its just a quick epipen insta-prone away from being up and behind cover, ready to fight again in about 15 seconds.

We are literally EXPLOITING THE SHIT out of the no head shot = death change, and it's reaaaaaly lame.

Agreed. Headshots should be deadly, period.

Hell we should be able to kill the ''wounded''. In fact that should be the case most of the time, a soldier being killed, especially in CQC when I literally pump 20 rounds into a body before it falls

that's hard coded

i personally dont go for head shots..its just when a guy pops his head over a wall and i shoot it in 1 hit a medic will just get him up.... i agree with whoever said earlier though maybe marks man or sniper can head shot kill

Not with the current deviation.

It's a gameplay decision, that's it.
