I really like the mod, though it's so hard! :)

1. Golly, can you make the spawn times even longer? :(
It's kinda rediculous that I have time to come here, register, and post this note all while waiting to respawn. I know it's a reality mod, but it's also a game for fun. Waiting 45seconds to respawn is not fun....

2. Airplanes should have to land to re-arm.

3. 1-2 seconds of spawn protection. The camping is nuts...

4. Support weapons are more accurate than a sniper rifle. I use support to snipe as it's better and more accurate/easier to kill at long distance. I have sniped people at like 1000 meters or something using the support guns (hard to guess distance, but it was FAAAR). Fixing this would add to the reality.

5. If it is really PR, then you should only be able to spawn in the back point. In reality, you can't spawn on squad leader, so please don't use the "it's reality mod" explanation for some of the above suggestions :)

Respawn time is a server option... so it's variable.

Thanks for the replies

Well, not sure why all the populated PR servers always have such high respawn times (like 35+ seconds). Its kinda annoying (typing this again while waiting to respawn) :)

High respawn times = People care for their life = People teamwork more. This said I still don't think it is the best solution, you can find more on my signature. :P

I think the highly populated ones have such a high respawn time to counteract graphical/ping lag.

PR devs work more on the mod than they do telling us the 'goods', have faith (no, dont you dare go to church) and 0.3 will suprise us all :) .

Also, I read somewhere that 1.0 will be out this summer? Wow, that's fast since they are only up to 0.2 (or 0.3 by end of April)!

Do the devs work on the mini-mod separately from the full 1.0 mod and this is how they can do this (or some derivation?).

It is a good theory.... but it really makes game play annoying to wait so long to re-spawn :( .

Also, I agree with your idea 1000% of only allowing spawns at the base camp. Unfortunatly I imagine most people playing will hate that since it would take long to get to the "action." But, I think PR should definitely implement your idea (which is what i stated in my first post in this thread about spawning only at base camp).

Then, they could make spawn times very short since you start back at the base camp anyway and it takes (in theory) time to get to the front lines.

The easiest remedy for the long spawntime: STFWYS!-- stay the funk with your squad!

If you've got a good squad (that isn't all assault/support/spec ops), then the medics should take care of you if you stick with them.

The 45 second spawntime, don't forget, is also a huge penalty on the team, and so it changes the gameplay dynamics. With 45 seconds to wait, it is very easy for half-3/4 of your team to be dead at a time, leaving bases open.

Oh, and if you take out the feature of spawning on your SL, you can pretty much kiss any advanced teamwork goodbye. Nobody would stick together.

Hell, it's hard enough to get people to wait an extra 10 seconds so they can spawn on the SL for the sake of keeping the squad together and in sync (a good squad should usually die at the same time-- that shows that if the whole squad isn't wiped, the remaining guy can pick up the medic's kit and revive everybody, starting with the leader).

Besides, I've found it pays to wait to spawn on the SL anyways, because when you do spawn, you have a longer life expectancy than if you're doing your own thing (added protection of your teammates, plus having a medic who gives a damn).
