Mumble Used in the right way
Mumble is not a place the blast your music. its a program to make coordination with other squads easy. on sunday on t-combat was some great examples why mumble can really make the game a new experience.
USING MUMBLE THE RIGHT WAY CAN OPEN PR TO A NEW LEVEL!!!
I also suggest we get some more admins on mumble.
and we right up a code of conduct on mumble.
ps. Sorry about the big writing . frak

Re: Mumble Used in the right way
i gathered from an earlier thread that people are just blasting music on it and that immediately turned me off to it. maybe on counterstrike thats acceptable practice but i wouldnt think PR players would be down for that.

PR + Mumble is fantastic, but some players are ruinning it. Guys, think a bit more before turning your radio up in a middle of a game, respect the other players.

Yeah, however much fun it might be to hear another player blirting music as he drives past you, it's all too annoying for players that havn't spawned in that can hear it asif you've 'forced centre'.

Apologies, as another thread has been locked with discussions about people spamming music, we should use this thread for ideas about a code of conduct on mumble.

Re: Mumble Used in the right way
And this is why now I ask if anyone has any objection to it before I start. It is VERY enjoyable ingame, but annoying as hell outside of the game. So yes, if you just joined the channel and are pissed off by it, SAY SOMETHING. Yes, I may seem like the biggest a*shole to alot of people right now. I know I'm hated for the music, but a considerable amount of people love it and even request it.
Code of conduct regarding mumble music:
1. First ask if there is anyone not yet ingame. If no one, proceed to step 2.
2. Ask those around you ingame if they would mind a bit of music. If yes, then don't play it. If no, go ahead.
*If you have joined the mumble channel prior to entering the game and music broadcast is in effect, you have all the right to tell the broadcaster to STFU until you're ingame!*
I think this system would work until the next mumble release is out, in which ingame audio is not heard by those out of game.
Be nice now, kiddies.

Re: Mumble Used in the right way
Please USE this thread about how mumble is good for PR when it is used the Right way.
I belive anyone blasting music on mumble should be kicked or banned on site.
Mumble is a tool to make PR a new experince.
Dont knock it intil you play with people that like to win and work as a team.

Now is better, i mean.
You can STFU the ppl whit music whit ur own voice, not via chat like in CS.
Those people are annoying... but in the other hand funny.
Walking on the forest while listening that rick roll song.. coming from the forest.. shoot it!! shoot it!!...

Jesus H. Christ dude, ever heard of having fun? PR isn't always about über-l337 pwnge, alot of times it evolves into a buddy buddy, chill and have fun game. Yes combat still goes on semi-professionally, but people feel alot more relaxed and free to talk. Ever been in one of those squads where jokes are made by everyone? This is what I'm getting at.Rambo1369 wrote:Please USE this thread about how mumble is good for PR when it is used the Right way.

PS- if you think mumble is always used for dead serious gaming, I suggest you go watch the mumble mestia videos

Mumble is for tactical use only!!
If you want to spam your music go some where else.
We need to setup a code of etheics for PR.

LOL, I'm sorry, but how is mumble for tactical use only when the enemy can tweak their settings to hear you all over the map? Or when the human blob formation is made? Do you have any idea how much joking and screwing around comes about from 20+ people all on mumble??Rambo1369 wrote:Mumble is for tactical use only!!

I don't really mind people having a good laugh and having fun in mumble since that is kinda what the whole point of a video game is.
But spamming the mic with music and other annoying stuff like screaming and whispering is just annoying and shouldn't happen

I just posted in the mumble experiences threadcfschris wrote:LOL, I'm sorry, but how is mumble for tactical use only when the enemy can tweak their settings to hear you all over the map? awesome game man, awesome.
a whole team working and talking as one. All thanks to mumble
I even converted iGi stoffen, a hater of mumble, to be a lover of mumble last night, thats how good it was
when the entire server uses mumble its not easy to use it to cheat, since there is so much chatter from the entire map you have to use the correct settings otherwise you can't hear anything
Human blob formation is awesome, and thats just a fact

Re: Mumble Used in the right way
M8, if you want to go around playing music that's fine, but god help you if I ever catch you doing it while I'm in the same mumble server. Remember, it's not just about you and your close circle of friends, but everyone on the server, and if you're getting your kicks by pissing everyone else off, that's not on.cfschris wrote:LOL, I'm sorry, but how is mumble for tactical use only when the enemy can tweak their settings to hear you all over the map? That's why were trying to think up positive ideas and not continue bitching at each other/spilt milk. Anyone got any changes on the guidelines I suggested on the last page?Incomplete Spork wrote:I don't really mind people having a good laugh and having fun in mumble since that is kinda what the whole point of a video game is.

Bud, I'm not making this into a flamewar. I'm just defending my point of view, just as you are yours when you say I should be insta-banned. That's not forward thinking, which is what this thread is about.Rambo1369 wrote: Please Chris Stop making this into a flame war.
I made helpful suggestions for a Code of use on mumble which would make both sides happy, the music haters and the music lovers. Check it out, then make some suggestions of your own

Re: Mumble Used in the right way
Sorry guys but cfschris is not the one starting a flame war, YOU are. So stop it right there.
You're allergic to music or something? First, he DID post a suggestion about how to prevent problems like this, ask those around, and ask if anybody is loading and if either mind the music. That's a good idea, at least they're told music is coming.
Seriously, are you really going to die because a HMMWV passes by, blasting temporarly some Highway-to-hell? It's not going to kill you, it might be comical actually!
Yes of course, if somebody STALKING you or a passenger/driver with you in the same vehicle, is blasting music and you don't want him to do it, then he should stop at once when you tell him to stop. It's common sense people, what's so hard to understand with that? Just because you slightly heard music from a squad passing by doesn't mean you're in the rights of chasing them down and burning them like witches ; unless they're spamming it in your face even if you asked them to stop, they're not annoying anyone.
Can we all behave or is this just another OMFGSTOOPTEHMUSICAAAHH!!!1!!!111One!!!111!1 ..thread? If there's anything to help prevent abusive use of mumble, it's good admins and a reasonable ethic code. I played music once or twice, and it was fun for those with me. Each time, when we got into a fight, got tired of music or somebody said he didn't want to hear the music, I stopped immediately.

Re: Mumble Used in the right way
Hopefully in the future mumble will be connected to the player and when a admin deiced to remove a player there mumble access will go with them. End of the day it will be up to server owners to police themselves like any other punk problem. If it becomes a problem report the player to your servers complaint forum or get the attention of a admin in game.
