Sorry if i put this in the wrong forum it just seems stuff gets replied here quicker, can having a too high of a contrast ratio on your monitor actually make games look worse, mine is 10000:1 but it seems like my old monitor from 5 years ago made games look smoother, it seems like all my statics are jagged with this new monitor, since its so high though it makes textures look great unless its a static like the trees or grass, this goes for any game too, actually i really notice it in crysis (just wanted to check it out because i got vista and never had dx 10 before) like all the cliffs and sand and player models look amazing but whenever it comes to statics like vegitation it seems to be to high of a ratio because it makes the leaves all jagged, if its not this i guess it must be my graphics card...however i dont think it is so could this be the problem?

Sounds like you are not running the game at your monitors optimal settings. When I run my 19inch under 1248x1024 all the edges are jaggy etc, but its smooth when its set to the highest res.

Also try using AA for smoother edges.

look up your monitor's ref number on the back of it. punch it into google and bring up the specs for it. it will give you the best resolution setting you shoul use for maximum performance and the Hz output.

my native res is 1440*900 at 60hrtz, is there a code u can put into the shortcut to make it 16:10 and not 16:9 widescreen because thats what 1440*900 is otherwise the highest ref rate is with the non widescreen res and goes up to 75 hrtz

thank you guys very much, knew my players looked super tall when i manually put in widescreen 1 and szx 1440 szy 900......i havnt tried it yet but i am very confident it will work thanks for the help.
