Good 'PR realated" movies?

Post by Mary.au »

Hey all, thought this was best suited here than in off topic, sorry if I was wrong.

Just wanting to hear some suggestions for good modern-ish war films that will get me "psyched up" (not that I need it) for PR.

I went though a stage when I was into Company of Heroes where I hired a series of WWII movies based on a thread like this one, and I'm not sure why but it made both the game and the movies a lot more enjoyable.

So yeah, any suggestions?

Not only movies, but series too. Generation Kill is a good call.

its seems like theres not a whole lot of modern war movies out there. black hawk down, and the generation kill series definitley rank at the top though. but most war movies are based on older wars like world war 2 and vietnam, so I cant think of too many movies that get me pumped to play PR.

however, what does get me pumped to play PR are shows like ross kemp in afghanistan, even though its real and not a movie.

I don't get psyched from movies. I usually watch videos or listen to some music to get me into the fighting spirit.

I would echo charliegrs comment and tell you to check LiveLeak for some clips.
But GenKill is a great way to pysche up for the game as well.
I used to watch the movie Gettysburg before playing that game but there are clips from the real Korengal that should do the same job.

There was another series on a few years ago called Over There, it was pretty good. A movie i saw recently called The Hurt Locker, its about an EOD team over in iraq. Body of Lies is also a good movie, not exactly about the war, but still worth watching. Then theres older ones like Black Hawk Down, Jarhead, Three Kings, Generation Kill, Delta Farce, Syriana, Tropic Thunder, We were soldiers, etc. Even some non modern war stuff like 300, Troy, Rome (HBO series), Band of Brothers, etc. get me pumped for combat.
