I haven't had the chance to download the new version of the mod yet since my friend still needs to get my BF2 disc back so I have few questions on the maps.
I want to get some more friends involved in this mod with me, but after some of them watched the video's on Youtube and other places most of them think the maps are to large for them. We all have liked more realistic games for years now, but most of them want to play on a smaller playing field. I am not talking about tiny maps like you would find in the latest Call of Duty games, but something at least "medium" I would say.
I am thinking all the maps are large to begin with, but do they offer a 16 or maybe 32 player version where you are just playing a section of the large map? Also are there any populated servers that run something like this?
I still like the massive battlefields and always will just wondering if anything a little smaller for almost casual players is available so they don't think they will be walking forever to play.
Question about map sizes

Re: Question about map sizes
Yep, theres the skirmish version for most (if not all) maps, which takes place in a small section of the map, f.e. the bunker complex in Kashan. Vehicles are mostly disabled iirc. I don't know if there are servers that play skirmish maps all the time, but there are definitally a few servers that have them in their map rotation. Check if you see "Skirmish" in the gamemode column while choosing a server.

Re: Question about map sizes
There are a few 1 km AAS maps like Asad Khal, Sunset City, and Road to Kyongan Ni' that offer CQB with infantry vs. infantry. They are easy maps for new players to get accustomed to the infantry aspect of PR without getting raped by the vehicles. In fact those maps should feel like home to a lot of vBF2 INF ONLY players. I would look for those three maps.

Thanks for the help that sounds good then hopefully people play the skirmish mode a lot it sounds really good.
Oh so Sunset City is still around I played that a long time ago and it was a really good map with a lot of atmosphere.

Re: Question about map sizes
bear in mind that PR is not like BF2....you cant capture all the bases at once, there is an orrder they have to be capped in...so their is kind of a natural frontline that forms....also, since you can create "mobile bases" the maps are often times focused to only several areas at once.
