Well this isn't just with PR its with BF2 in general.
I just got my new computer
XP
Great internet connection
all wired inputs
Never had this problem before
AMD2 7750 kuma black edition
Asus 4830 512mb
2gb GDDR2 1060mhz
Biostar tf720 mobo
Anywho, I installed BF2 and joined a game after patching and whatnot, first thing I notice is how amazing the game looks haha, second I notice how the movement of my character is all tweaked.
It is very laggy, but I am experiencing no lag like outside of myself. Vehichles moving smoothly people running fine no lag there. Just in my movement.
Ill turn and it lags and when I sprint it seems like it stops then goes repeatedly very jerky like movements. It is very annoying. I was also having trouble with PB but manually updated it and it didnt fix anything.
(I was being booted for OLD PB stuff by the server) Any help?
Oh and im pretty sure it has nothing to do with my FPS.
Nobody gave it the light of day in hardware section....

Re: Odd movement lag
My game does this also, even after I upgraded to 9800gtx+ still get running lag, sometimes its even on other players for a moment like they will stutter. I figured it was just a bf2 bug.

Make a quick video of whats happening. I can recall my friend had this problem or similar with battlefield 2142, and it was fixed by updating the drivers for his mouse and keyboard.

Re: Odd movement lag
im gonna take a guess here and say its internet connection. even though you say its a "great internet connection" you didnt provide many details. for example, what are the pings of the servers your joining? and do you have any programs running in the background besides bf2? like antivirus, firewalls etc. you are doing just fine in the hardware department, way better rig than i have and mine plays smooth as hell. also, what resolution do you play in? do you use vista? if you want us to help you you need to provide more info

Re: Odd movement lag
I'll take a video using fraps.
I have Xp as stated in the original post. Heres my connection speeds.

And the servers I am in are around 140 ms ping, thats all I can find. This is not just in PR it is in BF2Vanilla also.
I play at forced 1440x900, I have AVG on but it isn't doing anything.
I'll get the vid up shortly.

Re: Odd movement lag
I've had it too, and I recall some videos on Youtube where it was happening also.
It basically looks like the game can't decide what frame it should go to next in 1p animations and stutters between all sorts of random ones near each other while you move. It's really annoying, but doesn't actually seem to have any impact on gameplay at all. Oh, and the 1p sound bugs as well, looping back into itself at random points near the start of the file.

Re: Odd movement lag
When I turn the character either left or right or what ever, it will jerk back after i stop turning about an inch or two on the screen. This is very annoying. I was so pumped to play PR maxed out.

Re: Odd movement lag
this sounds alot like internet lag. basically you input a move command, like move forward, and on the client side you move forward however on the server side there is a lag or packet loss and you revert back to the position you were just in, which on your end looks like you jerking back to where you just were. thats the best way i can describe it. have you tried playing with avg off to see if that would improve anything? also you may want to try alt-control-deleting on the desktop to bring up your task manager and see just what exactly you have running in the background.
like i said i highly doubt this is a hardware issue, i have about half the system you do and i run on all high settings with a higher resolution and never lags at all.

I'll give it a shot. Maybe a fresh install of BF2 will help also. I'll reinstall it.

Re: Odd movement lag
I reinstalled seemed to have fixed the problem. I can't believe there are still 1.0 servers up. I played a bit 1.0 is awesome. I can't believe how badly Dice/EA fucked that game up.
Hopefully it doesn't come back after I install this patch.
