Greetings!

Post by Teufel Eldritch »

Greetings from a noob Medic! Looking foward to patching my squaddies up!

I have used the 'Search' feature but couldn't find any info or tips on how to play as a PR Medic/Corpsman. Anybody got any tips on how to play as a Medic? What order do I use? Epipen-Bandages-Resucssitate? Just what does the Epipen do?

Resucssitate if needed 1st (i think?)
Pop em with the epipen
Then take out your medic bag and hold right click next to him(u should hear some kind of zipper sound).

Resuscitate - Epipen - Field Dressings or Medibag, depending on triage.

Resuscitation isn't necessary, however if you find yourself using epipens on wounded without any result, use resuscitate then attempt the epipen again.

Hey there Teufel, welcome to the forums.

There's one medic guide, it may be a bit dated but will tell you the basics.

The one thing I see that some medics forget is that they shouldn't be searching for targets to kill, they should be following behind their squad to heal/ revive them when needed. Try to stay out of trouble, in cover.

The resuscitation is to fix a bug where the body gets stuck in the terrain. The epipen is the actual "reviver" like the old shock paddles. In PR people aren't revived with full health so if you have the time the optimal course of action is to resuscitate, revive, and heal. Also unless the person your helping hits give up you have plenty of time to revive the person but also remember that if they picked up a limited or enemy kit if you take so long that the kit revives they will be resurrected with their default kit. I'm not absolutely sure about this last bit because I haven't played medic much lately so correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure you can still heal yourself with the medic bag by looking straight down while standing and using it. It won't play the sound or animation but it will still heal you.

as an almost full-time medic player I always use resuscitation. Its takes only a second or 4 and it ensures you that 90% of the time you can get your guy up. It takes way more time to try the eppi, not getting your guy up, switching to resuscitation, switching to eppi, stabbing and healing him.

Also a tip: Casualty's lie on the ground for a long time here! If the area's hot smoke up or clear the area first. ASK your casualty if he had an important kit if you dont know yourself. If he has, do not clear the area but cycle his kit first. That way you ensure the kit staying around instead of disapearing after 10/15 seconds.

Also use VOIP to tell your casualty that your working on him, tell other downed players to not give up if they are in the area. giving up costs a ticket and time. So keep communicating to your patiens. Tell them to watch certain area's while you are healing them. As a medic you are supposed to be up and running as the last person in the squad when everybody else is wounded. So you know what is going on since the rest is looking up at the sky ;)

I think cycling the kit is as important as ressing the guy himself. So whenever I have my squad standing by I cycle.

If im alone out there I cycle, smoke up, run out there to use resuscitation, run back to cover, wait a second or 2, run back to eppi and take the casualty back to cover.

As a last tip: Its best if your patient is crouch and you are prone. If not your played model might be infront of his gun thus resulting in a team-kill when he shoots at something. It might not appear this way on your screen but it happens a lot. So take your distance or make him go crouch.

I don't believe cycling the kit actually works, it normally just seems to cause bugs.

Works for me and the patients are gratefull if you save there precious, marksmen, AR, GL or AT kits. Just pick it up, cycle to your medic kit and get them up. Make sure you cycle before a blue medic gets him though! It just resets the disapear timer. What bugs are you talking about?
