Leaving PR.....for a while
The PR files are getting so big that I cannot download them anymore. So until I get a better computer I wont be Playing PR. I currently dont have bf2 or PR installed.
So yeah. I will still go on the forums but will not be playing PR. Not that anyone cares haha.
I like PR but my pc cant afford those 2 gig files.
Sincerely

Is it the length of download? Torrents are a great alternative for someone who cannot sustain the normal browser download.
And yea, despite the thoughtless demands of the other posts, 2 gigs is rather small by today's standards. Anyone who has ever ripped an ISO of a recent game or has looked at the install size knows that 6 gigs is getting to the norm, pre installed.
Ah well, hope you find some cash for a new machine.

Somewhat pointless thread but at least you know. Not that anyone cares haha.

Mhm, Call of Duty 4 = 6GB hard drive space....
Similar for most others. 250GB hard drive for just $47.99
Sorry but if people keep posting complaining about the file size noone is going to listen. This mod will always be pushing to get the absolute max out of the engine and this means increased file sizes. This will not be stopped because a few people arent willing to upgrade to even slightly modern hardware.

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Indeed. There's plently of sites hosting the PR installs. Torrents are slow as hell

Cause we throw bombs on it, throw bombs on it. Just smash something, yeah mosh for me.

Re: Leaving PR.....for a while
Actually, file size is a substantial problem for some, but not because of Hard Disk space.
When I was at uni, the my download rates were $20 a gig (later reduced to $10 a gig). I spent more on PR than on any other game, and that was just downloading it, not factoring in the cost of playing it. I can't imagine that I'd be the only one who has had bandwidth problems that were exacerbated by big downloads for a mod they like.
But what does it really matter? It wouldn't be a mod I like if the file size weren't so big.
Now if we could tidy up some things that weren't picked up in beta and successive versions (oversymetry, man portable AT/AA, Medics, support weapons not functioning as intended - particularly the continual failure of snipers), this would be a mod to cherish, love and marry irrespective of her bad habits like instability, poor hitreg, simple deviation and large files sizes.

Re: Leaving PR.....for a while
This computer im using I bought in 2005, it has 1GB ram, and 256Mb Geforce. How about that! And I play PR on LOW graphics, And it works fine, not on fallujah tho. Ive recently Defragmented my harddrive and tried to clean my HD by delete som files, IVE NEVER GONNA SURRENDER MY PORN COLLECTION. I recomend you to defragment your hardrive and clean it up, and do a Spyware search and your cpu will do much better. I think that the PR devs should have all space in the world to make this mod and shouldnt worry about peoples cpu because we who dont really can play it without lag, we have shitty and outdated computers.
Fallujah really sucks tho. Al basrah is smooth as a baby butt. Love it. Sometimes I want to have sex with al basra.
