Remote detonatable Claymores
I didnt see this in the list, so i thought Id suggest it. Remote detonatable claymores would be useful for combat in wooded areas and road sides against light vehicles. I dont know if the bf2 engine would support this, but it would be a valubable asset.

We had it, got rid of it. It was called "Rifleman Anti-Infantry" and used to be the only one with binoculars.
Can't remember why they're not bringing it back, but a simple search should turn it up.

Yes, but it'd not be nearly as useful, unless we add a few of these to maybe one or 2 more limited kits. Maybe the Marksman type, since they're not nearly as useful as a sniper and their accuracy over distance sucks? Or perhaps the combat engineer kit, since they could use more than 1 c4 charge without getting more ammo.

the combat engineer should have this, as a defensive weapon...
maybe 2 each? max 4 deployed at once

I always liked the remote claymores they had back in the old PR days.

I was thinking claymores for situations like firebase perimeter defense or slowing down enemy advances in woodland terrain, mayber guarding a snipers position, things like that.

Claymores are 1lb of C4 and 1500 buckshot rounds with a wire that leads to it with a blasting cap on the end. no remote claymores have ever been used. Too unreliable....

"When in use by the U.S. Military, the M18A1 Claymore Anti-Personnel Mine is most often command-detonated. Such use is permitted by the Mine Ban Treaty. However, use of Claymore mines in uncontrolled (tripwire) mode is prohibited by the treaty.[5] Because of this uncontrolled mode, it is frequently listed in efforts to ban anti-personnel mines. Then you're using illegal equipment and are subsequently a war criminal.
Also, the basket-hilted claymore approves of this thread.

Re: Remote detonatable Claymores
I said we used wire for claymores. Nothing more. Some guy took the firing remote denator off some C4 we had (we got extremely bored and yeah) and rigged it to a claymore. Stuipd mistake considering that when it didnt go off EOD had to come out there....Expendable Grunt wrote:Then you're using illegal equipment and are subsequently a war criminal.

Re: Remote detonatable Claymores
Remoted-Controlled Claymores might make the Combat Engineer kit more useful than it currently is. The way it is if an engineer wanted to defend an area or mine something he'd have to put down his 1 piece of C4 and his AT mine, then go rearm and come back, which takes a long time and increases his risk of getting shot along the way. 2 claymores would help alleviate the problems.

Already had them in game at one point. They may or may not return. Locking for re-suggestion.
