Sniper rifle question
Is the bullet speed of the respective rifles what it is in real life?, or is there a constant speed for all rifles. If so, what is it?

Re: Sniper rifle question
it is weapon/cartridge specific.
PR uses a different, and far more realistic approach when it comes to damage and bullet stats.
Instead of giving a gun a certain damage amount, they assign it a projectile type that has a preset amount of damage. Each bullet is different just like in real life.

Re: Sniper rifle question
So could I get the actual stats on the real life guns and use them for leading targets?
For example, the muzzle velocity of the M-24 is 853 meters per second. Could i use this number to figure out how much to lead targets in game?

Re: Sniper rifle question
well, you would have to take, in the fact that the m24s reticules in game suck hard.
and are really off compared to us army mil dot.
but sadly bullet drop doesn't come into effect until after 600m in game (supposedly)
and i dont know off hand what the specs are on velocity in game for the 7.62x51
and i wouldnt bother using dope slopes anyway, theyre great in real life. ive made my own for my .308 and they work. but they dont work so well in-game.
your going to find out that all rifles are different and the only way to become accurate and precise is to use the weapon repeatedly and almost exclusively.
just play, shoot some stuff, and miss alot of stuff.
there isnt any better tool for educating than trial and error.

Re: Sniper rifle question
believe it or not but a 150gr .308win is runs about 2820 fps or 860 mps.
in real life powder charge, and barrel length make up for a huge part in velocity.
exp. the ak47 shoots the 7.62 x39mm and the m16 shoots the 5.56 x45mm. the m16s round fly much faster than the ak's.
smaller sleeker bullets fly faster thru the air.
