I meant the skin. The model needs some fixing up, too.

the model looks a bit too fat. The support class is a better example of the poor modeling
Image
horrible model far too many bags and such

Also the MEC would look better if they all had the same helmets as the AT class and they all wore the same camo (instead of that wool shirt the medic wears, WTF is with that?)

ex. of medic

Also, the MEC would blend in better without the black kevlar IMO. It makes them stick out too much

Texture still looks good to me, has an interceptor vest. Only thing that bothers me are the black boots.

why is the support class so much bulkier than the other classes in comparison. Both the USMC and the MEC support gunners look horrible

They ware big backpacks to carry the endless supply of ammo.

I think that some backpacks would make the soldiers look better. I renember in one game, there backpacks come off when they enter vehicals (Other wise the backpacks go through the seat), could this be done in PR?

ALSO, Dont forget that green cammo kevlar vests and coats are used in Iraq (Possibly because of money).

Don't most soldiers look different anyhow, I mean various items soldiers put on to look cool I guess (you know, gloves, masks, etc.). I think if the PR team ever has an aresenal of skinners with free-time on their hands, they should look at making various soldier looks. I mean every soldier has at least have some sort of "customized" look. Everything ranging from camo painted faces to your sleeves rolled up.

Also I think depending on the unit and scenario should also determine what the soldier's camo looks like. As well as other items such as NVGs mounted on their helmets for night maps, gas masks in the event of chemical warfare etc.

Also, for a great source of military photos save the follwing link into your favorites.

Also, perhaps for some embassy extraction type map we could have guys like these. :D I have no clue who they are but they were included in the U.S.M.C section on military photos.

Any joe schmoe could buy that pistol carrier. Look at the M-4. It has an AN-PEQ2. My guess is military because no one in the civilian world owns one. They are used with NODS to help aim. And plus they are pretty well groomed.

The MEC soldiers unifors look far too different IMO. The AT has a green helmet, the assault has a camo one, and medic has a greenish helmet wiith netting on it. The medic is wearing a brownish sweater, as well as the spec ops, while the assault and support are wearing camo and black kevlar. The AT guys is wearing darker camo as well. Maybe you guys could standardize the MECS uniforms. they could all have the same style of camo, helmets, boots, and kevlar. It makes them look less professional when they are all dressed differently.

The only thing I see with the Marine skins is that they look kinda yellow-ish compared to the real uniforms. That may just be the lighting though, either on the map or the render... wherever the image was taken from.

It was probably the lighting because I immediately played some SP after I made this topic and noticed it was much tanner in-game. But I still stand by the opinion that the the models for United States Marine Corps in Battlefield 2 were poorly made, as were both other factions.

How the marines should look
http://www.insurgencymod.net/media.php
Marines don't carry their bags into combat, they leave them in the HMMWVs. I don't think any soldiers in BF2 should have large sacks besides the engineer for all their mines and explosives. If you dont change a single thing, just take the huge packs off the backs of the medics and supports. Leavee it like that and I will be content.
