[Weapons] weapon exports

Hey fellow scandinavians...

I have been assigned to export the following of your weapons: glock 17, hk 416, hk 417. Progress will be shown in this thread.

So far I'm working on the glock 17. Please do mind that it is still WIP and there is still tons of work left to be done.

As I have other duties and the norwegians arent a priority at the moment I wont set a deadline for this process. period.
If people feel it is going to slow - find someone else.

btw, norwegians suck ;) they cant even use a friggin' pistol ;)

Hk417 should be ingame already ;) ask the dutch for it

The dutch will need the Glock 17 as well. Can I plase remove the flashlight from it?

it will take up 2x+ the space just because of a flashlight. Now if were some kind of optic or something that will affect gameplay it would not have been a problem with having two different versions, but a flashlight dose not add anything, espcially not in bf2.

Now the dutch HK 416 will need to be re-exported as well, which I will do so they match up in all aspects.
Their version use a eotech sight so your 416 versions can still keep their flashlights if it is so important since they will be seperate weapons. HOWEVER if other factions are going to use them, like the PSC for instance, it would probably require a version without a flashlight.

So my recommendation is that if the norwegians have a version of the 416 that NO other faction uses, we can throw the flashlight on that. Anything else will just be inefficient I'm afraid.

btw on the hk417 export can you recode the weapon range, their is a in my opinion to large bullet drop over long distances.

I guess I can but I dont have much experince with bf2 scripting/values. There are dedicated CONs/DEVs for this to ensure that all weapons perform as they should so try contacting one of them instead :) . I think nedlands1, jamez or fuzz is responsible for this. Could be wrong though.

I prefer our Glock 17 without a flashlight, dont know what the Norwegians need but for us it is of no importance.

The PSC version of the HK416 uses a diffrent scope then both the Norwegian and the Dutch HK416 we have a Eotech on our version since we only need that weapon for our specialist rifleman kit.

only on the flashlight. I'll convert the .jpg's I got to .dds later and get it in there. If the flashlight will be used.
Going to wait with further work until I know if it is going to stay or not.

Are you going to put the flashlight on the Glock, wasn't that something Mafia (or KP, can't remember) just tried out for fun?

I want to remove it. I just get some random files and start working.

I just tried for fun, just to see the looks. By the way, Z, you can compare the exported version to the images that i've posted, they really looks much different.

About the 416, i can post the variants we have at the moment.

Keep in mind that this is the default lighting in the object editor, it will look different on maps.


ALSO, this is exactly one of the reasons I keep telling people not to render their stuff. so many things look different ingame than through raytracing.
Also found some mesh errors I need to fix up so its not transparent when the gun is flipped.

Thanks a bunch! :D

Just to clarify: the flashlight version of the Glock is there because, according to our MAs, the flashlight is always used on the Glock in A-stan. Same with the 416.

Alright. I'm still troubled by having 2 of everything because of a flashlight that can't be used ingame anyway.

if that is the final call I guess I'll just do it and keep my mouth shut, hehe.

Still, I need a list of versions needed.

Will probably get back on this job sometime late next week.
