Vehicles WZ551 variants

Post by J.F.Leusch69 »

hello there,

so in short:

1. the devs were able to remove the turrent from the normal WZ551 APC.

2. they "just" sticked a 50. cal AA mg on it, buuuut cant we get more variants of this apc since adding some small stuff to the existing WZ551 would be able and could add new APCs/IFVs and change the gameplay by less work.

here are some variants i found i the web, we might need to ask some china men how common their use is.

it could be also a nice counter part to the stryker variants that are not yet in game

the pages i got the pics from:

PLA Mechanised Infantry Division Air Defence Systems

cheers leusch

EDIT: ps. could an admin update the "about"/"team" side,... would be very nice but wont change gameplay at all :D

Yay, i hope they make that 6 wheel 120mm variant. It was my favorite land vehicle in BF:MC. (for xbox) But i think that was a different one entirely. Nevertheless still just as cool.

The only one of those vehicles to make it out of prototype stage is the assault gun vehicle, the PTL02, classified as a tank destroyer. The cannon is 100mm and it's reported to be able to fire Chinese manufactured Bastion (AT-10) missiles in addition to other, standard cannon rounds.

How can you say its in the wrong place when that's not even a WZ551?

And man imagine that tank version of that going up against that MGS version of the stryker, pure epic.

Sadly, i think it is supposed to be a WZ551. Its on the PLA side of the map Missile Crisis from Battlefield Modern Combat. Or do the PLA also have a 8 wheeled version of an APC with a large cannon?

That 8x8 mobile anti-tank gun is not WZ551, if I recall correctly it never go past prototype. The Nomenclature for it was something along the lines of BK-120 or something similar, can't remember on top of my head.

In reality, only the TY90 variant (AA) could be implemented by just modeling the turret and coding it on there, even at that it'd look rather awkward with the way EA modeled the vehicle.

The AA Flank cannon never got past Prototyping and the PTL02 assault cannon isn't exactly mounted on a WZ551 Chassis. Thought the the PTL02 has an very similar chassis, there's a couple of differences: 1, it doesn't have propellers. 2, it's turret ring is larger and farther back. 3, the layout of the vents and hatches on top of the chassis are either removed or moved.

Is that the prototype you speak of? Because i still think the overall body style of the one i posted looked more like a WZ551.

It doesn't matter anyway. Either way, EA brutalized the model. Enough said.

No, that's not it. The one in your picture has 105mm cannon, the EA one had 120mm if IRC

Yeah i think it's a 120mm self propelled artillery, but i can't find any decent pictures of it.

Anyway, ANY wheeled tank killer would be nice. It would give the Tow humvee a run for its money.

People might actually want to play on the Chinese side if this was implemented, hopefully the styker variants will be added some day as well.

China is already cool, even if their QBZ firing sound makes my ears sad. It would be a nice alternative to full out tanks on certain maps. A cannon platform that carries ammo boxes?
