[Question] New British Kit.
Just to make this clear straight away, this is not a suggestion rather it is a question about the British faction.
With alot of new kit being given to British troops e.g. The Jackle, The Mastiff and the modifications that have been made to the Sa80. Is there any plan to include any of the new equipment in the MOD or are the old vehicles going to stay because the DEV's have higher priorities at the moment?
Or is the plan to wait for someone to appear in the community mods section willing to make one?

Re: [Question] New British Kit.
well, Cheeseman was making a cougar, which is the the original source of the mastiff and ridgeback, so hopefully!
jackal looks like alot of work, as much as I'd LOVE to see it ingame, I think the WMIK does pretty much the same job as the jackal would do ingame, so I doubt it will be included any time soon.
Who knows though eh? we didn't realise the lynx was coming right up to the release

As has been said elsewhere - the priority at the minute is to bring the 'OpFor' factions up to the standard of the USMC/USA/GB forces, as they are now. Doesn't mean they won't get new kit as and when people finish working on it, but there's clearly a need for newer assets for some of the OpFor factions to get in-game before the existing 'new' stuff in-game is replaced, if that makes sense.

still, I hope the cougar is being worked on since that can theoretically be changed in to a mastiff quiet easily since the rear cabin is rather boxy, same for the ridgeback (which would be easier to use ingame, but is only just about to be deployed)

Tell bunny that just because something isn't an immediate priority, it doesn't mean it's not a possibility

Over 80% of the assets planned for 0.9 are for OPFOR factions (PLA, MEC, Russia, Insurgents/Taliban, Chechens) and with very good reason.

Well, I have to say you guys already did an amazing job with the weaponry of the insurgents in 0.85. Only thing that still bothers me (although probably low priority for you guys) is the civilian (bomb) cars and technicals. Hopefully the community made civilian vehicles (toyota, mercedes, heliux) will be added to put some extra variation to the car park of the insurgents.

Where do I look to find out more about what things may be useful modeling for OPFOR factions?

As in, you'd like to model something? Have you modelled before?barrypotter wrote:Where do I look to find out more about what things may be useful modeling for OPFOR factions?

Re: [Question] New British Kit.
Yes I have been modeling for a while now, but haven't modeled anything with a game engine in mind yet. Just was looking for a 3d project to test my own skills with polygon restrictions etc . Wasn't wanting to bother the dev team, as I probably not finish it like most my projects I start...... just thought it may have been common knowledge what was needed and I could work on the sly (thus not disappointing any1).[R-DEV]Jaymz wrote:As in, you'd like to model something? So no need to reply, get on with your good work
