[Map] Hainan East (4km) [WIP]
Map Name: Hainan South (or Sanya East)
Map Size: 4km
Map Region: China, Hainan, Sanya
Map Factions: Version 1 : (Defending) USMC vs (Assaulting)PLA Navy Marines
(current)Version 2 : (Defending) PLA vs (Assaulting) USMC
Map Focus: Mechanized Infantry, Ambhibious Assault, Attack/Trans Helicopter, Armour
Map Characteristics: Jungle, Rural, Urban
Map Type: AAS v3 (around 19 possible flags to cap, thinking of about 4-6 flags at time..)
Well, here is what I've been working on and hinting around the PLANM Forces thread. After over 9000 'PM' exchanges (and counting) with advisor Jonny, we managed to push this out so far. Map is about 50% done, I've got a lot more stuff to put in... and of course a lot of tuning after that. I hope to release a public beta so I could get some help on getting rid of bugs.
We are hoping to do a lot of modifications to the textures (ie fallujah, muttrah) to the available statics to make the map look more authentic.
The maps is very loosely based on this location.

You can see the map it self looks a tad different...

*warning, map is highly experimental, it features large view distances and lots of objects, your FPS rate is not guaranteed to survive.*

Pretty darn cool mate. Looks like a real nice candidate for the PLANM
I like the atmosphere of the banners and such. Should be some interesting aspects on this map, not to mention assaulting from something else than the Enterprise

The map is looking fantastic, even for just a WIP.
The feeling of an urban combat zone is great.
Keep it up !

Nice work dude, it looks really cool! The urban enviroment looks really realistic compared to most of the current chinese maps.

Re: [Map] Hainan East [WIP]
I noticed the Difference from your old screens to your latest ones, I love the PR Banner in that cool font if someone could tell be what font that is that he made in the banner, that would make my day, well night I guess, but keep up the good work. I could see this in the PLA as well, The sky looks great but like DR.Rank mentioned could use a little work. This coming from a person who couldn't even make Terran in the Mapping Tool.
But it looks great to me.
keep up the good work, it would be cool to play as well if you need people to test it out feel free to pm me and I would be there in a flash.
again good job, and happy gaming

Re: [Map] Hainan East [WIP]
thanks everyone. I didn't create the banner pvt, It should be found under statics objects/vegitation/pr/banner or something like that.
about the sky, I'm not sure....less cloudy? Ill try and look for something better.

Re: [Map] Hainan East [WIP]
It does look a little "dark". As the sky is really light.

Some sexy stuff. You need more billboards, that pink one is kinda lame.

Re: [Map] Hainan East [WIP]
Hughjass. Great looking work. Main battle tanks in a semi-urban/industrialized setting is reminiscent of Karkand, where I cut my BF2 teeth. This will make for some interesting gameplay, on the one hand the chinese will want to neutralize the tanks and on the other the US will work to keep them operational. Somewhat like Qwai River but on a much larger scale and with more urban fighting. Great stuff.

Re: [Map] Hainan East [WIP]
ye just a warning, its bugged to **** with its LODs when its ingame so that will need fixing really, its not very apparent on sunset city as its not used much and the view distance is so low you can't see itHughJass wrote:thanks everyone.
