Helicopters; improving the pilots view range

As far as I can tell, this hasn't been suggested before. I'm not certain wether or not it could be easily implemented.

When you're flying helicopters in PR, particularly transport helos, your view range is rather limited. I know you can use the CTRL key to look around, but holding down the CTRL key while flying means you can't do any steering. This is most importantly a problem when you're trying to manouver sideways, as in horisontal movement from one side to the other. Flying like this is useful when you're trying to find a good spot to land off people or pick them up in rough terrain. Being able to look right and left can also be crucial in determining wether or not the LZ is safe.

Is it possible to add a second view mode where you could look directly right or left of the helicopter while still retaining flight controls? I know you can swap view mode in regular BF2, looking around in all angles while still being able to fly properly.

Finally, I'm not sure wether people flying with joysticks have this problem. If they don't, I suppose I should start using mine.

It's already in there. You can't use control, but with all helicopters (excluding the Apache, which the Devs either ignore/don't realize it/don't have the proper cockpit model) and jets, using the 7, 8, and 9 weapon keys change your view to left, up, and right, respectively, while allowing you to continue to steer.

Also in the hueys (or maybe others.. haven't quite tested) if you press F it cycles them.

The bad part about it is that you lose your hud.. which throws people (like me X_X) off. It would be a lot easier to fly around and such if your Hud stayed with you
