I completely missed that this was a resuggestion.
I searched on the wrong tags.

I found the suggestion was hardcoded.

I have a really great suggestion!

You know when you are critically wounded and then some explosion hits you and you become DEAD instead of wounded.

Add that effect to the KNIFE so that you can finish off enemies you shoot!!!

This way is good in lots of ways!

1. You DO NOT have to guard the enemy you shot, you can finish him off with the knife...

2. This will not change gameplay/teamwork at all since medics can still revive, but you can stop the enemy you shoot of being revived if it is safe to go up to him so that you can end his life (and get your kill).

3. Because you have to run up to the enemy, if you are smart you will not do this until the area is secured. Securing the area will need teamwork and coordination by your squad/team so that you not get shot on the advance.

4. If your team/squad think you have the area under controll, and rather want to go into good positions straight away or attack, you can just leave the wounded enemies. If the team is pushing forward in a fast pace, there will be no point to finish off the wounded enemies since they will be far back in your own teams controlled area.

If this is possible to add I recommend some DEVs to look into this and maybe if you can it would be great to have to the new patch, to compensate the 5 min wounded state. In case that this is not possible, maybe some DEV can just lock/delete the thread.

It is possible and your suggestion differs from many resuggestions of FINISHING OFF CRITICALLY WOUNDED but most people had a problem with ROE's and issues with real life treaties and moral arguments for killing critically wounded combetants.

I guess this would symbolise restraining or taking enemy soldiers captive (ala restrainers for insurgency) rather than actually stabbing a wounded guy on the ground.

Where I would still like to be able to shoot downed guys (frowned upon in many discussions), not being able to shoot them makes this suggestion much less contravertial than the other FINISHING OFF CRITICALLY WOUNDED threads.

First of all, doing this would be practical murder. Would you walk up to some poor, injured, combat ineffective soldier and kill him with your combat knife in real life? Have you had like a GTA overload or something? The fact that this could even be considered is ridiculous, not to mention sickening that people would want this in game. Soldiers are people, not mindless killing machines with no feelings whatsoever.

if something like this gos ingame i will honestly be disgusted, reason being is that its completly wrong and immoral to kill someone like that (His an unarmed combatant!). This is one thing i hope never makes in ingame. If you drop someone with you rifle they are then non combatants as they are no longer a threat (I know I know "but then they get revived". well shoot them again it only takes one single shot to KILL not wound a player within 1 min of being revived.)

DEVs please dont use this, i honestly can say that i would be put off playing, this is a game of reality not random ***'s going around and in a sense "Murdering" a non combatant!

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth

The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
