A sort of ASVAB for PR
I have lately seen way too many people who play for themselves and not the team (I had a guy take the A-10 over me though I had an appropriately named squad and not one spotter but 2! He had none.
The community as a whole is undoubtedly starting to get tired of this. That's why there should be a restriction on who flies/takes kits and who doesn't.
There are two ways I am proposing to "pass" a particular portion of the test (let's say this as an A-10 pilot)
-If your KDR (not IAR) is greater than 1.5 in the A-10 on a training server
-If you have at least 100 hours with it on a training server
-If you have a battlerecorder of 5 successful non-bailout landings
OR
The test route
-Someone trustworthy would oversee you handle basic tasks with the A-10, such as
-Firing missiles at a lased target
-Engaging a non-lased, but approximately spotted target (no keypad, just grid)
-Dealing with ground based AA (lased and non-lased)
-Avoiding getting locked by using flares (from jets/ground)
-Takeoff and landing
This is not to prevent newbs from learning - in fact, this does the opposite because now if they want to fly, they have to learn how first. This is to prevent the loners saying "It's all about me, therefore I get the asset".
IRL, this is also true. You need an officer rank to fly in the USAF, which means going through some schooling.

That's something any raging tard racking 200 kills per round raping the MEC spawn on Kashan training can accomplish.-If your KDR (not IAR) is greater than 1.5 in the A-10 on a training server
-If you have at least 100 hours with it on a training server

Yeah as outlawz said you can achieve this in training on your own K-D wise. But i agree sick of people taking assests when not in assigned squad. People who have no regard for the squad system are very hard to get out of PR permanently, sure you can kick em with admins but there will always be them. And just to point out im pretty sure very similiar ideas like this have been suggested, and shouldnt this be in the suggestions?

Too many tards, and until we can light them all on fire on command this is the only way to do something...

i dont agree. if you want the jet, wait for the jet, and if a newb comes, tell him your waiting for it to spawn and you are going to work with it, if he do not leave contace an admin. i mean it takes a while for the a-10 to heat up, and if you are not near it whene it spawns, on most servers, anyone can take it. i mean, sure, it may have just spawned whene they grabbed it, but in my experiance, if you dont wait for it, yet your squad is named after it and you are nowhere near it yet diing, and its been sitting there for a while, its a asset waist.
this applies, kinda, to this by, if the a-10 sits there for half an hour, why cant i take it, yet i dont have the above requirments. personly, its just a waist of an asset.

Restricting assets to qualified players is a potentially good idea but it is irrelevant to someone taking 'your' A-10.
A really good pilot would still take the A10 if they got to it first, and if you supposedly reserved the asset it's a server matter.
No offense but it seems to me like you're just complaining about not being able to hog the asset, which isn't exactly 'playing for the team' either.
It sure is annoying when n00bs don't train to use assets and waste them, but I don't see that as an excuse for experienced players to hog assets on servers with reservation rules to protect them.
I'm not against qualifying pilots (if that's even possible) as that would theoretically reduce the amount of asset waste, I just support the fair game system when it comes to sharing assets on public servers.

You cannot stop people flying through some kind of ingame statistics based coding.
The stats system in BF2 is not that complicated that it can be done just like that.
The way to solve the problem is to have servers that are actively adminned to prevent people wasting planes and the like, and having lots of active and mature admins is the way to stop pretty much all the problems in these threads about asset wasting, immaturity and lack of teamwork.

i doubt this would be a good idea. There is no asset that is "yours" its the teams asset. If your not there to take it get over it. If somebody steals it when your just about to hop in and your in a squad for that asset then i guess take it up with a server admin. Some servers dont have a rule for that anyway.
if you miss him... try, try again

Yeah any well admined server will deal with stuff like this anyway, if they're very protective before anyone steals or wastes any assets too.

This is up to the server admins to deal with.
