Medic improvemnts, other than V.86

Post by Sgt. Ostrander »

This may have been brought up before, so please don't light me on fire for this

Lets begin, as we may all know, the combat medics job in real life is a difficult one. He / she is responsible for the welfare of an injured soldier until they are able to receive FULL medical attention. The steps taken in this game are fair, and I am uninformed on how the new revive system works (like most of us who are not part of the PR design team). So i have thought up of maybe a new way of healing bullet wounds. I spent a while developing this, ENJOY :p :

Step 1: Act quickly, but not stupidly. Check if the area is safe, make sure the your team ha you covered, so you can safely proceed with healing the wounded soldier. If you through yourself out into a fire fight, your endangering your life, and the rest of your squad mates.

Step 2: Use an epipen to have the victims body create surplus cells in case of escalation of the wounds severeness.

Step 3: Locate the wound. (maybe some blood effects)

Step 4: Remove the bullet with a pair of tweezers. If the bullet is not removed in game, your performance will be altered. Example: A bullet has wounded you in the leg, your running will be slower and more hobbled, along with your stamina decreasing because all the energy is going to the wound for it to be controlled. another Example: A bullet has wounded you in your left arm, as a result of this your control over the rifles kick is descreased.

Step 5: Basic first aid to get your soldier back in the game.

After being shot and revived after about 2 - 4 times, i think you should eventually have no luck.

Anyway, i hope you all enjoyed this. And ideas welcome :p

I dont think steps 3 and 4 or possible with the engine.
In .86 there is no limit on how many times you may be revived, although if you are shot within 60 seconds after being revived, you are dead-dead.

hmm... very good points made for three and four. The engine isn't very flexible. Well, i officially declare this case is closed.

This is probably the most impossible suggestion I have ever heard. First of all there is no game on the planet that can recreate this sort realistic damage and medic system. Maybe in the next 10 years you might see something remotely like this. On the BF2 engine however, I think you must be smoking something funny to actually believe this sort of thing can be done on ANY current game, let alone a limited engine such as the one PR uses now.

Oh, and not to shoot you down but a bullet wound from an Assault Rifle would require serious surgery. If you've never head of the mushroom effect on bullets before, it's not as simple as removing a simple projectile from a hole in the body.

adrenaline's primary function is to combat hypovolemic shock, i.e. low blood pressure.

There is no significant increase in mitotic rates (mitosis is cell division)

Does a standard full metal jacket round create a mushroom?

I was under the impression that it was only hollow points.

This is hardcoded and the devs can not do anything like this with the BF2 engine. Maybe something for PR2.
