Plate carriers
I can't ever get a good look at the frontal bodies of marines in this game but do they have plate carriers on? Since the goal of this game is realism I hope the troops have the most up to date protection
. Anyways if they do have plate carriers does anyone have pics?

Re: Plate carriers
New USMC kit geometries have yet to be made.
a Retired R-DEV posted a very lovely model of a USMC soldier which I think was accurate, however it was not specifically destined for PR. So, here's hoping.

Re: Plate carriers
A plate carrier is a harness that retains a ballistic plate that protects the user's vital organs from penetration by small arms. These are not widely used by US armed forces as each branch has their own body armor systems which combine both hard and soft armor.
The US Army is in the process of fielding the IOTV while the USMC and Navy use the MTV.
Our player models fall into two categories, vBF2 or PR. vBF2 models that are still in use fall into two categories: heavy & light. For all factions except the Militia, Heavy has body armor modeled, while light does not. Both the USMC & US Army factions utilize multiple Heavy vBF2 player models (USMC_Heavy and Ch_Heavy.) while using one light model with several variations.
While a seemingly simple solution would be to create new kit geometries that feature body armor models, it is more complex. Because there are two different types of player model (Armored, or not,) it would require the modeler to create a body armor model that accommodates both torsos, which results in an incredibly large and bulky model that does not accurately portray the piece of equipment in question. (I am speaking from experience here.)
The other solution would be: Create new player models. Which is a daunting task to say the least, and definitely not something that I am up to doing. I'm still waiting on baited breathe for news from Vaiski.
Hope that clears things up a bit.

Re: Plate carriers
That was a very informative post Read, doesnt the IOTV have that addon available, think its called "valkayrie" or something, has like a groin protection and shoulder padding you just attach. Also just adding in a question on topic is the british troops skin wearing Ospreys in PR?
