We decided that we also want to have true 4km armour battle map against a more traditional opponent (Russians)

The story goes that the Russians invaded western Europe and allready conquered most of Germany and are moving into the Netherlands, we flooded the IJsel line and barricated it and the Afsluitdike and are waiting for NATO backup to arrive so the only way to towards the port and oil depot of Rotterdam is through the southern part of the Netherlands and this is where the Koninklijke Landmacht is digging in on the forrest of the Loonse en Drunense duinen.

Nice abstract art :) (jk)

I had made future plans for a European plains tank battle map - would look good if it had a hazy atmosphere imo, so you get the feeling of looking through the mist.

It shouldnt be too hard to do, as you can keep statics to a minimum, and mainly concentrate on vegetation and terrain. All these things can be done, almost automatically in external programs. ;) Also keeping statics to a minimum will avoid many problems with giving it a very high view distance. ( which I presume you will want. )

I've we have flooded the ijsel wouldn't it make sence to flood the maas and use it as a natural defence line. then the only possible entry point will be at Nijmegen, Groesbeek. you also got a Glider airfield (thanks MaxBoZ) what would be a perfect operation base for the DAF.

And I don't like it that the Russians already have captured Eindhoven en Den Bosch :(

I know about the existing of the IJsellinie but why shouldn't you flood the maas and defend there instead of 70 km inland?
