PunkBuster (kick) "disallowed program/Driver [128017]

Post by madbadwebbo »

Recently updated to PR v0.86 and am now getting kicked back to the server constantly by Pb.

"disallowed program/Driver [128017] " time out is 1minute penalty

I have never had this trouble before and i dont run a macro capable keyboard.
My mouse is Razer Lechaeis, with no macros in use. I have been using this for over a year now and no problems.

I have the latest and upto date AVG Free & Spybot search & Destroy installed and scan regularly.

I have recently installed an LG GGC-H20L Super Multi Blue Ray & HD DVD Drive (Cyberlink software)... but i wouldnt have thought this would cause the problem?

Its currently driving me potty.... as i cannot play my favourate game! :o ops:

Any ideas?

Have you updated PB using their tool? Heres a link - http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

Try that, if it doesnt work then try disabling your Anti-Virus? I doubt that its a problem with your mouse, keyboard or new HDD etc.

could be a program interferring ie mumble overlay or ati tools?

have u done a google search for the first part of the error i.e. disallowed program/Driver [128017]

i had real problems with punkbuster kicking me for pnkbstrB.exe heartbeat stops, turns out it was my avg stuff and stopping that whilst gaming seemed to help.

hope you get it sorted

Well if you have ATI Tray tools, stop using it and use another program like this. I had this problem, and once i stopped using it the error went away. Or you might have an old version of fraps.

Got kicked for this while running PR with Steam, using the Add non-Steam game feature. Are you using Steam, and is it causing the kick?

Well, I carried out a re-patch of PR and re-installed PB and everything seems ok now ;)
Just need to find a server to play on where the majority of players are over 12+ and actually speak :(

I had this problem today. It was the mumble overlay. It got me kicked even when mumble was NOT running.

This is I fixed it:
Turn off BF2, open mumble, go to settings, config, overlay, disable overlay, and it will be fine. Then restart BF2.

Thank you Rudd.

I am having the same problem also, the game won't stay connected for more then a moment. I am thinking it may just be this windows 7 **** on here, it's been nothing but a pain.

I used to launch my game from steam. I had to kill steam and steam friends in order to get rid of this error

Yeah I Uninstalled mumble, and updated my punkbuster. I still get the error. HELP!!!! PLEASSSSSEEEEEE!!!

Note: This is the first time I am running PR through steam. I re-bought BF2 through steam on a sale and installed the mod in steam folders. Punkbuster was updated correctly and mumble was uninstalled correctly. I am running on windows 7.

Punkbuster is the worst program ever. Never works. It doesn't seem like any one is going to find a solution to this problem. I just don't understand because PR used to work for me.

problem solved for STEAM users.

1) on Steam go to Settings.
2) go to the In-Game tab
3) uncheck "Enable Steam Community In-Game"

should work, at least for me.

Started getting this error today "Restriction Disallowed Program/Driver 128042" I use TeamSpeak/Mumble/Xfire. I disabled the Xfire and Teamspeak overlays and still get kicked with the same error message. It worked fine last night and never had any issues with it until today when I tried playing. Any help?
