Why is there no guide to mumble?

I wish there were. Sure the installation guide is nice, but there needs to be a manual.

anyway, this brings me to my question: When I join the mumble PR server, and I join a game server, does mumble automatically connect me to that server, or do I have to minimize PR and join the specific server?

you have to minimise PR to join the correct channel, each PR server that wanted one, has a channel on the offcial mumble server.
