Suggestions on GPU

Post by Tzuridis »

Hi I would like someone to maybe suggest to me a new video card for my computer and where I could get it or them cheap.

I currently have: Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+ (2 CPUs), ~2.4GHz, Memory: 5024MB RAM. Operating System: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (5.2, Build 3790) Service Pack 2. Language: Greek (Regional Setting: English)

I have 2 of the same video cards:

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Chip type: GeForce 7300 GS
DAC type: Integrated RAMDAC
Display Memory: 512.0 MB

PCI express x16

My power supply is Aveia I do not know how many watts exactly, I know its 500+ but its tri-fan so I am guessing around 520W

I wondering if I should just buy a 9800 GT for 85$ which I think is very cheap, or just upgrade for any of the higher end 200 series...

I'd go for a 4850: Great performance, great price. Don't hate just 'cause its ATI.

Ive heard many times on this forum that the ati drivers can cause textures to look very blocky in PR, but not all the time.

HD 4850 or a 9800GTX+, That's my input, both are good cards.

If you are advising a 9800GTX then the GTX 260 for the same money gives you more bang for buck...
