giving up(sorta)

Post by theflidgeface »

i know someone suggested surrendering before but i think this is a bit different. i was thinking u could just add the civilian weapon, unarmed, to every class therefore everyone could raise their hands signaling they surrender. obviously some people will act somewhat unrealistic(i guess) and they would simply shoot the surrenderer. so maybe u could add some advantage to capturing someone, like if someone is captured the other team will be able to see some of his teammates or firebase or rally the list goes on. also when u capture someone u dont kill him or arrest him like in insurgency but u bring him back to ur main to get the information, or anything similar(firebase or capture point). one thing u might need to do this is add a commo rose option(Q) when u raise up ur hands saying "i give up!" or something similar to that. and after the person is captured his team can rescue him back for additional tickets(probably hardcoded). not sure how u could stop the capturers from killing the guy after he give them the information but hopefully someone will have a good suggestion. so its pretty much like a vip thing but it could happen at anytime. one way to stop people from killing these surrenderers is to give them a punishment like u would get if u killed a civi. there would probably be issues with the captive pulling out his gun and shooting the capturers but maybe the team capturing the guy could just ask him to use all of his ammo through text. there will probably be some sort of hardcoding on some of this shit but hopefully u could at least add the unarmed weapon to ALL kits. the main reason i am suggesting this is because sometimes im surrounded my squad is dead but i want to stay alive(maybe if u had zero deaths).feel free to suggest any changes to this suggestion of mine.

sorry if this is confusing or hard to read :|

And why exactly would somebody be willing to surrender if he knows he can give vital information
to the enemy about his team? I'd rather get shot and wait 30 seconds than surrender.

I get where you're coming from, IRL soldiers would surrender in certain situations. But you can not
code the fear of death into the game. It's still a game, and everybody knows that, so nobody is going
to surrender and give away info, because they are somehow afraid of dying.

Nice theory but in practice all you're doing is pointing a nice blue dot to the enemy position that says "bomb the hell out of me".

I don't think anyone would want to give up.. Also it would force another inventory item to be removed. You can only have 9 inventory items.. so you'd have to take out something else.

How exactly are you going to get "inteligence" from them anyway? Also you say that you want to keep your "prestiged" 0 deaths, they're just going to kill you in the end. What, do you think they'll just let you go back so you can shoot them again? Thats not the way war works.. :P

I don't forsee people respecting the surrender given how often people gun down civies on purpose. Nobody cares. I wouldn't. I'd just shoot you anyway because it's a game and it's faster and safer for me to shoot you.
