Is there STILL no solid fix for the Net Frame installation error?

Hello all, Ugg I have been trying and trying to get this to work, But all that happens is, net framework starts to install, then just reverses and says it encountered a problem. I have Removed previous versions as recommended and still no luck. The particular thing it is saying under the error report is "EventType : visualstudio8setup P1 : 35101" Any Ideas for a fix? Thanks!

I believe this is an error to do with your MSI (microsoft installer). Try asking on MSDN for the solution, but search there first as it is quite a common problem.

I also had a similar problem. But the .exe worked even though because i had another .NET-version installed.
Can't remember wich, but try installing like 2.1 or something and see if that's bugged as well.

No luck.. Been to msdn also and no fixes that work.. Will it work for sure if I format my hd and do a fresh install of XP? Do I need to get all the automatic updates afterwards also? ty

Yeah its likely you do depending on what version of XP you install .. some of them have service pack 3 streamed in now.

You will need to update your bf2 as well.
