[RESOLVED]BF2 Won't even start on Windows 7

Ok, couldn't find this problem anywhere else on the forum or Google, unless it was resolved, with a solution that doesn't work for me

I got Windows 7 Ultimate RC 64-bit build 7100

I installed battlefield 2 and patch 1.41, but as soon as I run the shortcut or .exe (both as administrator with full control settings and changed resolution) screen turns black as if it's about to launch and then leaves me back on the desktop.

Tried this and this as well, also no difference.

The big frustration is, that it works fine with patch 1.5 beta 2, but your mod does not
and I'm really excited to try this mod out.

Tomorrow I'm gonna try to re-download patch 1.41 and see if what I got isn't "legitimate", but besides that I have no clue to what it can be...

In case someone should ask, here is my setup:

Windows 7 Ultimate RC 64-bit build 7100
Q6600
Geforce 8800GT
2GB DDR2 PC6400 RAM
2x250GB WD Harddrives
ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus

Hope someone can help, as I really want to try this mod, looks like you did an incredibly job with it!

Nevermind, problem solved.

Appears that it was because I didn't remove the old profiles after uninstalling the game so that it would've saved the new Widescreen "support" resolutions and couldn't start under 1.41... ops:
