I'm sure you probably get a lot of thanks for making such a great mod but, seriously I appreciate the hard work everyone involved has put into PR. It seems BF2 is slowly going down the toilet with the latest patch that will kill the a large part of the game play, but I'm sure I will find enjoyment in PR long after I can no longer tolerate vanilla BF2. I couldn't ask for much more although it is always great to see that it is very well supported and that the developers did more than EA or DICE could ever hope to accomplish.

Ditto! yesterday I played after a pause of one month and was awed again by the way this mod portrays modern combat so accurately, playing with a good squad using VOIP.

Agree. But it's easy to forget the extremely crappy shit this wonderful, great and addicting mod is based on.

To understand the hard work that these guys have been doing is beyond imaginable, I've been playing PR since it first come out and the work that has been done is phenomenal. I agree 100% that no other mod will ever compare to Project Reality, because of the dedication that these Dev's have...

VBF was my first computer game since about 20 years, I enjoyed it but it was always frustating....
I eventually had enough and got PR, it sounded so complicated I was worried - it took a while to get used to it.
Now with Mumble, you fight with other squads and even have the oppurtunity to chat to mates in other squads when your paths cross.
I have always been amazed that the real players are listened to and the patches do honestly improve the game for the majority of players!
I do laugh sometimes about the insane detail asked for in the threads...I think the last was should the tracers be one in three or five!

Evil_Black_Fox, thanks for kind words, posts like these really do help some developers keep their motivation levels up and helps to combat the hundreds of posts of complaints and bitching hehe

glad you enjoying PR, best thing you can do is tell some friends who you think might like the mod :)

I want to voice my thanks to the development team and the community behind Project Reality.

Being a relative newcomer to the mod, I haven't been around long enough to see the long-term dedication of all those involved. Despite that, the amount of commitment and passion for this project I've seen in the last few months is overwhelming. From dedicated players that I see playing every night to the server admins who are giving their time to make sure others can play the game on a functional server, and last but not least the hardworking devs, who take some time away from coding/modeling to shoot the breeze with their fans: Well done everyone.

I may not be an expert on the project, nor do I have the knowledge or experience of the many veterans around, but I am quite happy to be a part of this community and hope to contribute back eventually in a positive manner as many of you are doing today.

I'd like to add my voice to the chorus of thanks. I've been playing since .4 and seen many changes, yet PR still holds my intrest and keeps suprising me with what can be done with such an old engine.

I think PR has made more effort than DICE has -.-"

What they don't realize is , it's not fun to shoot a whole clip into your enemy and not kill him...
Making the mod more real is fun and will bring good players into the game and a better community.

Dug, while I agree that more realistic gameplay = more fun gameplay, a lot of people are quite happy with unbalanced/unrealistic arcade style shooters. See Counterstrike, BF2, COD4, etc.

Realistic or complex games usually come from passionate independent developers because big studio and commercial game companies are concerned mainly with low-cost rapid development games. Environments simulating reality tend to be a lot harder to program and create in a balanced and fun game (especially multi-player), so most bottom-line companies don't bother with those kind of projects when they would sell less copies in the end than something simple and mindless to play.

That being said, this might give everyone an idea of how much hard work and effort it takes to make a game like Project Reality, especially considering the devs aren't getting paid for their work and it isn't their full-time jobs.

You guys are so much more badass compared to those big sell out companies, its not even funny! I can't beleive the amount of time and effort thats gone into all this! Especially with such an old engine! If there's one thing I've learned while being a part of this community its that there is no limit on imagination here! With every update comes awsome new suprises! Keep up the good work!

The worst part is probably that EA won't show any gratitude to the people making the most populare BF2 mod. (Atleast I think they don't).

As Fuzz says - thanks guys. All too often all we hear is negative feedback, and comments that say anyone who says anything nice is simply sucking up to us. It's nice to hear that even though we don't always get things right, the hard work is appreciated :)
