Mic1/Mic 2 Port Help

I have a working mic2 port, but BF2 does not recognise it :S And i've looked around on the net and found out this is a known problem with the BF2 engine. I've looked all over the back of my computer for a mic1 port but there doesn't sem to be one. I've even looked at the manual and honestly I cant find it. And when i look at my mic ports it says my inbuilt webcam (in my monitor) is using mic1.. But there is no wire connecting it to any ports and i never use the webcam so i'm a bit confused.
Is there a way for me to set up my mic2 port to be recognised as mic1? Im using a Dell XPS 420 with Vista Home. Other people must have this problem so i thought this would be the best place to post Thanks.

In your sound control panel you should be able to disable your mic on your webcam and then set your Normal mic as default, this should in theory make your mic now work in PR.

This problem happened to my mate on his laptop and this fixed it.
