Realistic IED

Post by StrkTm_Leopold »

What if after an IED went off a plum of smoke lingered for a descent while to bring the realism of the explosion going off with the choas and confusion that a detonated-IED would bring in real life. Not to mention it would make the Coalition forces more aware of where recent attacks have been besides the carcases from detroyed vehicles. Im not saying J-dam smoke but maybe mortar strike smoke affect.

Well I dont think it would be appropriate with the IEDs looking like juice boxes and all. I think someone here has a mortar IED going around that would probably be in soon.

There's an artillery shell IED that's already in game that this could be used for if it's realistic.

Eh? They patched the game in the past couple of weeks? :p Last I remembered there still is an artillery IED kit you can pick up in certain places.

Also, a smoke cloud might look cool, but if I'm not mistaken it's also hell for processors and graphics cards. PR is heavy enough on a lot of computers already :p

Also AFAIK artillery IEDs do leave a fair aftermath of smoke after. Well it does after you place 10 in a line :P

The only Iraqi insurgent map, which I don't think has the arty IED is Ramiel. There you just get a kit with the iron-sight Lee Enfield and nothing else lol.

Artillery IED is very rare to come bye and only on certain occasions have I been able to attain it at the main base since everyone whores any kit they can get. Not to mention the Artilley IED's explosion disipates within seconds just like the normal IED even though its a 105mm shell.

Also it's a lot quieter than I think something like that would be, even if it is "buried."

yea i agree more smoke and have stay longer after an IED explosion is a good idea. ive posted about this saying that all explosions should have more smoke and should stay there longer. smoke from burning wrecks whould have WAY more smoke IMHO too.

ive seen on liveleak a Bradley IFV fire a 8 HEAT round burst at suspected enemy positions and it was like throwing a bunch of smoke grenades.
