Hello everyone,
I would to know if PR could run good in windows vista 64 bits or windows 7 OS, because im going to update my pc
now i can run PR without problems in windows vista ultimate 32 bits , but now my new pc comes with a Nvidia gtx 295 and windows vista 64 bits with a free ticket for upgrade to windows 7.
Please im a fanatic player to VBS2 VTK and PR the most realistic games and land war simulators ever created i think.
and i would thankfull if someone can ask my question
cheers.

Re: windows 7 and vista 64 bits
I know it works with Win 7 RC (v7100x64), it's what I'm using right now. I couldn't get it to work with the v7600x64 though. I have not tested it on the Win 7 RTM (release to manufacturing). I'm sure it works on vista x64 as many people have that OS.

Re: windows 7 and vista 64 bits
Well, it was a little tricky for me, but I got it working eventually. Here's what I did:
1. Install Battlefield 2
2. Restart Computer
3. Install Battlefield Special Forces (if applicable)
4. Restart
5. Install 1.41 Patch
6. Install PR Core Setup Files
7. Install PR Levels Setup Files
8. Restart
9. Download and run pbsvc.exe from Punkbuster Website (DOWNLOAD HERE)
10. Download and install pbsetup.exe from Punbuster Website(DOWNLOAD HERE), add BF2 as a game, and tell it to search for updates
11. Go to Start > Right Click on Computer > Click Manage > Services and Applications > Services
12. Ensure that PnkBstrA and PnkbstrB are started. If not, start them by right clicking and choosing Start.
13. Also, right click each service, go to Properties, click the Log On tab, and ensure that both services can "interact with desktop."
14. Now, go back to your desktop, right click your PR and BF2 shortcuts, and make sure they are set to run as an administrator.
15. Do the same thing with the actual PR.exe and BF2.exe in the Battlefield 2 root folder.
16. Now this next step is very important if you don't want to experience crashes and memory.dll CTDs (coped from another thread here):
Firstly, you want to backup your current bf2.exe in your "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2" (default install location) folder. To do this, simply rename it from bf2.exe to bf2.exe.original. You should back it up incase you have any issues in the future. Now you need to download the patched bf2.exe. This can be found in THIS zip file (THIS one if your using the EA Downloader version) (If you get a virus warning, ignore it, just a false positive). Then simply extract it next to bf2.exe.original, and your good to go.
17. It might be a good idea to download CCleaner and use it to clean your registry when all is finished.
Hope this helps!

Re: windows 7 and vista 64 bits
I saw this fix out there and I tried it, as well as all the other ones, with v7600 on a clean install. I was able to join a couple of servers without being kicked for an 'unknown API' error, but the server I wanted to play on just wouldn't. I kept getting kicked. I really did try everything, I even created a batch file to run a copied batch file and PR simultaniously, but alas to no avail. So I installed Win 7 RC v7100x64 and it worked right from install.'[T wrote:waylay00;1096330']Well, it was a little tricky for me, but I got it working eventually. Here's what I did:

If he gets a retail copy of Win 7 he'll be fine, in my opinion.

Re: windows 7 and vista 64 bits
I have played PR with Vista Ultimate 64 since September 2007. It works as a charm.
